PluginGuru Father’s Day and 60th anniversary - 60% off!
kitekrazy1 replied to Yan Filiatrault's topic in Deals
I have a rant about Unify. If you bought Unify via 3rd party you have to always go to that site to download updates. Every plugin I've bought that way your serial# is registered at the developer's site. This is not the case with Unify unless that is not the developer's site. I emailed their support about this. While some may not be bothered by this but it is an inconvenience and would not have bought this when I have to go through some hoops for an update. With software distribution becoming more faulty it's becoming by top priority in purchases. Very. very, 3rd rate. -
Cakewalk now exclusively available through BandLab Membership

Not a fan of trying to compare software to food. I'm a diabetic so I basically make my own meals. You need food but sometimes when it comes to software......shiny and new is hard to avoid meanwhile a new version of a fast food offering is quite easy to avoid. -

The plus side is can be installed on 3 machines. No need for 2nd license and 2 dongles. -
Endless amount of 3rd party presets.

That will probably change. Too many DAWs out there. Relying on a fanbase to come through will be a failure. -
Which Is The Most Popular Interface Brand Overall?
kitekrazy1 replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
There is a trend I see on Image Line forums where people believe an audio interface is not necessary. They'll spend 2K on system components and try to use Awful4all or the variants of it my DAW developers. Believe or not there was a user who bought BBCSO and tried using Awful4All and getting glitches. -

That most likely reflects the pro market but for that average Joe the top ones probably don't make the list. -
I'd rather buy direct than deal with NI. NKS or whatever is not a life changer for me. Unfortunately Native Asshat is.
-
2nd best reason to avoid. 1st is dealing with Asshat
-
I have their version that comes with hardware. I deleted it. It reminds me of Cubase with the additional clicks just to start working.

Must be a new developer with another proprietary plugin. Licensing is not favorable either.

APD Deal: illements Yearly Premium Plan - 71% Off!
kitekrazy1 replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
1st time I've heard of them and it's only their loops. -
At what point does one realize Komplete is all about bloat. It comes and goes with me but their Native Asshat which always breaks starts to me me think of not buying anything new from NI.

Waves Berzerk Distortion Plugin for FREE! [PROMO ENDED]

Maybe they don't have to lead the league in the race down to zero if they changed their licensing. -
It adds the Limiter and wants you to buy it but it has a great uninstall and you can remove that.

Didn't know what MTM stood for. For a minute I thought I was at ViControl
-
It seems like their Poor-t'all broke on it's own. Update not present but stays it's not installed. I'm tired of logging in using that (cr)app. It seems like the NI people tinkered with it.

I think going to Studio One would be an easier transition.

AAS Jazz Café introductory sale, now $19 instead of $39:
kitekrazy1 replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I bought this and I like the sound but when the word Jazz is involved in a synth player it should have jazz chords instead of the usual major or minor. -
I'm a fan of bland or 8bit looking GUIs. I don't even do color schemes. I love Live's 8bit look. I have all of Melda and working with them seems to be a rocket science. Lack of available know how is their weakness. Reaper use to be that way.

They have a small staff. It's their revenue that is huge. I don't think they even employ over 30 people. They also have their own shop selling presets. They got out of the 3rd party plugin business for now. They also didn't follow the enshitification model even after buying UVI. They let those companies do their own thing. I do buy stuff from their shop which is Flexx presets. I don't do their loop cloud until they start selling midis.

EastWest Synth Bundle: Forbidden Planet | String Machine for $129!

Serum and Spire of you don't have them. -
There's a lot of software that's no longer developed and it just works. I've come across those who still use Acid Pro when it was Sony. I guess 64 bit just doesn't impress them.

I don't know a single person who uses Audtion
-
I've never encountered that. I'm waiting for Image-Line to go out of business after the license I've had for over 15 years.
