I remember when you could buy entry level DAWs at places like Best Buy that came with midi to game port cables. I never got them to work. I still have all of my old PC hardware. My Yamaha SW1000XG is a doorstop. If I have the space I would slap together an old Athlon system and run W2000. I could run Sonar 2 and Gigastudio 2.5. Voyetra Digital Orchestra Pro was a cool DAW back then.
My Novation mini series can be chained.
The EW libraries, B4, Pro 53 are still valued. The rest would tick me off if I wanted to break out my Athlon XP hardware and run Windows 2000. I still have those Garritan box sets. It's annoying to see those cluttering Native Access as if it weren't annoying enough.
I guess it depends on the installer. I had my IK VST3 plugins in Program Files\Common Files\VST3\TR5. I was wondering the same thing as the OP when it came to using VST2 or 3.
Not available in FL or Reason either. Live I think uses a GM soundset so you wont have a clue how it sounds in Spire. I don't think Acid does either. When I buy some presets I usually open up Bandlab. I hate the plugin management in Mixcraft. Most DAWs I just scroll down to what I need. I like how some do it my manufacturer. The worst thing about Mixcraft is some of their forum members. Suggest improvements and the responses from users are quite stupid even the one I suggested that led to these Mixcraft videos.
Then there's some of us who don't read a manual and that where the real learning is. I need to change that behavior.
LOL something for the delusional Linux users to come up with another lame excuse to use Linux. They get so deep into themselves they make the worst webpages ever. At least it doesn't look like the copied FL Studio.
I wish it wasn't I went for it. I read the posts about Babylon on KVR. The FL packs and FL tutorials where the clincher. Usually the Serum wavetables can be used in other synths.
The old T-Bird and Athlon heat sinks were the best way to destroy a motherboard. Then Intel got stupid with the push pin coolers. Despite having insecurity issues putting those Intel ones on they were just as good and sometimes better than 3rd party coolers.
