  1. Everyone who does "custom" / "odd" meters knows this, so this if for the benefit of people who stumble onto this thread and are intrigued enough to experiment. The metronome can get messy, so as an alternative we can turn off the metronome and use a percussion track. Even when doing something as ordinary as 6/8 I have found the percussion track helpful to set it up as 6/8 in 2 or 6/8 in 3 or somewhere in between. Also works for "odd" meters. Yes, I know everyone knows this, but for the benefit of people who only do 3/4 and 4/4 and always use the metronome, maybe this tidbit will be helpful.
  2. This reminds me, for any instrument if you look at the Device GUI (such as the Meldaway Grand Piano), you can see whole bunches of tweakable parameters that are accessible without having the Edit Button that's in the full version. That might be a good way for people to decide if its worth $39.
  3. MSF LE does not have access to all the editable features you find with the Edit Button, but from what I remember, there are some things you can tweak with the Global settings.
  4. I bought MSF LE from Plugin Boutique (2021: £40.80). At the time they had no mechanism for purchasing the upgrade through them, but since third party purchases need to be registered with Melda Production, I was able to get the upgrade pricing directly from Melda. From what I have seen, $39 for LE is an excellent price. UPDATE: See this page. It says "Can be upgraded to: MSoundFactory." Note: I just looked up my invoice. I upgraded during one of the 1/2 price sales and received a loyalty credit for LE on top of the 50% price.
  5. (1) I hope you are not serious. (2) If you are serious, DON'T! (3) Hope you are feeling better (positive and productive) soon. (4) Despite your laughing emoji, you might want to edit your post.
  6. I don't use the playlist, so I can't answer your question, but I know the question of changing font size for various other things things in SONAR/Cakewalk has come up in the forum. As you may know the company that makes Cakewalk by Bandlab is in the process of developing two new products, Cakewalk Next and Cakewalk Sonar. Perhaps one of those will include the playlist feature. From what I have read, the UI experience will be very different from SONAR/Cakewalk as we all know it. I don't know if you looked up the question of changing font size in general in the forum. If not, here's what I did to find related posts. Using the forum's search features: Chose "Home" (upper left of Cakewalk Discuss to set the widest scope for the search). You could also choose "Everywhere" in the Search Bar's dropdown menu. Typed "font size" in quotation marks in the search bar (upper right on the same line as "Home"). I hope this helps until someone comes along who uses the playlist and can answer your question.

    Lunacy Cube $99

I just got an e-mail saying this $60 deal ($99 - $39 code) expires today. I see by the counter there are seven hours left.I am on the fence--it seems pretty, but not sure if I would use it. So I am not really promoting it other than to say, If you have decided you want it, haven't changed your mind, and still want it (personal decision), the timer is ticking.

    AVID GOT SOLD

For example, see the article @Reid Rosefelt posted:

    AVID GOT SOLD

No controversy here. I was just adding information / sources. Privatizing publicly traded companies brings changes. Disclosure: I have never purchased or sold shares of AVID.
  10. Oh. I wasn't offering a solution to a problem which you had already solved. I was just remembering the several times when I had the problem after the comments above mine. As always (well almost always) any problem can have various causes and therefore solutions can vary. Sorry about the confusion.

    AVID GOT SOLD

https://stg.com/news/stg-raises-4-2-billion-in-oversubscribed-fund-vii/ https://stg.com/news/avid-technology-enters-into-definitive-agreement-to-be-acquired-by-an-affiliate-of-stg-for-1-4-billion/ It seems to have jumped up to $26.66 at the close of trading Friday, August 11th. Anyone who bought shares of AVID between Summer 2003 and the end of 2005 and had been holding on all this time hoping for another bubble might feel lucky to be getting $27.05 after the long slump.
  12. Now that you mention it, I remember having to kill the midi activity icon/process manually on occasions after SONAR/Cakewalk had closed. Not 100% sure but it might have been after a plug-in mishap.
  13. Once you are logged in from your web browser of choice and activate CbB, can you choose Help > Refresh Activation and if so do you get a toaster message in Cakewalk that says your activation has been refreshed?
  14. How do you know this is not already possible?
  15. Thanks to all who contributed to the discussion. I rarely use phasers, but the thread inspired me to spend some time exploring. In case it helps inspire others, here's what I did. Background: For about a year (+/-) I have used Kushview Element as a host to teach myself (i.e., test and explore) Melda Plugins every so. One session started with Melda Sound Factory and MPowerSynth but now has Pigments and Analog Lab as sound sources to which I gradually added Melda FX plugins, mostly in a long serial chain. Its super simple to explore one at a time. Over the past few months I have been working on creating texturtal MSF patches based on some wavetables. Slow morphed changes shaped with a note-triggered envelope plus (so far) ModWheel --> table position for real time manual textural shifting. So, today (thanks to the conversation), I added MPhaser and MPhaserMB to my current Kushview Session, explored the factory presets and downloaded/community presets in both and found an MB preset that really complements several of the slow, evolving MSF wavetable-based presets I have been gradually developing. Its one that has 3 bands, has a nice low band sound and some nice mild, but noticeable phaser width LFO modulation in the middle range. I can easily see adding the MB Phaser into some MSF Presets directly at some point, but exploring the MPhaser/MB plugins like this (one at a time) helps focus my attention and greatly facilitates a developing sound design process. I apologize for my enthusiasm, but I have wanted to build in some additional layers to these sounds since I last worked on them and thanks to the discussion of Melda's Phasers, I have taken a major leap forward by discovering how I can make use of a 3-band phaser to in effect add more controllable dimensions in a way that pleases my ear and fits one of my performance styles. These plug-ins might not meet everyone's needs, but I now have a better appreciation of phasers and will be using them. ?
  16. I am surprised no one suggested doing Can-Can music with it! ?
  17. @sjoens Since I almost never browse the internet on my "smart" phone, I defer to the details you have provided. I agree that if people have their Cakewalk/Bandlab accounts crosslinked with Google Mail, Facebook, and or Twitter that is handy. I didn't know that was new (or that it worked). I guess I its worth having them all share information after all.
  18. I see 1 demo track (44 sec) and 8 individual samples under "Immersive Sound Design Makes Any Content Engrossing." I have gotten some Ghosthack freebies before and enjoyed listening to them. However, I don't use them for the music I do. I am not making a recommendation for or against them; just pointing out that I see some demos.
  19. Thanks for the clarifications. I stand by the results of my tests. I think your clarification about the time is saying the same thing. I have had incomplete downloads using Chrome, but never with Melda. It usually happens when I lose my senses and get an "Outrageous Bundle" based on other people's suggestions and then try downloading more files at a time than either my PC can handle or their server can send me. Often Chrome's restart option works, but not always. It also happens if I download stuff to a drive without enough space. I thought of saving the dlls and vst3s from 8/3/23 [dated 7/31/2023] so I could compare with the 8/10/2023 ones, but I'm not that scientific! ?
  20. My eyes are seeing "Suggested Specs" not "Minimum Requirements." In my personal experience, SONAR/Cakewalk has traditionally worked with less than what is usually suggested. Of course, in the past, with less than that, users may not be able to "push the limits," but in my experience the software's features do work with less than what has been suggested. I am not going to jump to another DAW just because I do not have the suggested specs.
  21. Earlier today I did something similar (resizing my Android phone's browser). In fact I was able to get the upper right hand icons, including the log-in button in vertical mode. (I didn't have to hold it sideways as I did previously.) Unfortunately, I couldn't remember my login name and/or password, but it did bring up the Bandlab login program.
  22. Last Halloween I tried the creepy one ("Nightfall"). It was either free or dirt cheap. I did a creepy set using Capsule within Voltage Modular and had speakers set up so music could be heard coming from inside the house. It worked well as a creepy collection of sounds modified in real time with a Waverley Instruments FX Send/Switcher** and about 3 or 4 FX I was using for the Halloween Improv. Sounded good to me. I have no other experience with it. **I had two instances of Gigswitch 8, one for FX (with 3 FX: echo, delay, & freq shift) and one for Synths (with 2 Synths--Capsule & MSF).
  23. In the interest of science I set my PCs clock manually to something that doesn't resemble real time. The installer downloaded correctly using the timestamp with the wrong time. The Melda dlls and vsts still were between 4:00 AM and 4:08 AM. Hope they can sort it out without messing up the downloads that work.
