Well done. I have to agree that guitar on the right needs to come down a notch, maybe two. Good tone all around on the guitars. Neck pickup on the main melody, same guitar bridge pup, in the solo and call/response in the second verse? Especially like that breakdown leading into the outro. Kinks? I guess I hear a little Ray Davies in here. Maybe another Brit vocalist, can’t quite put my finger on it...

I’m really beginning to like the new soundclick interface.

I think I like Soundclicks new look. I know I enjoyed/like your tune! I’m thinking slapback delay, at least that’s the route I would take (Sonitus delay, I like to set left and right slightly different). The jangle you’re getting when, I think, you’re picking inside chords in the solo is especially nice. Mind sharing your signal chain?

Ralph Murphy states that as songwriters we have to “write about places we’ve never been, doing things we’ve never done, with people we’ve never met”. I like to keep what might, or might not, be auto biographical ambiguous...

Do the verbs require iLoc?

Germ is correct, $167 minus the $99 I would spend in November on G3 anyway, left MPS3 a net $68; that for me was a no brainer. Sorry if I started any “heart palpitations”. The $99 “error” had me going for a minute.

David Bowie, wow, high praise indeed. (I was known to wear “glitter” and even a mini skirt once in the early 70’s, mini skirt was a parody on a JC Penny commercial “I want to look like an American”)

 Interesting thoughts/idea for a bit more live feel, I’ll have to check it out. I think my cover of “Key to the Highway” maybe has a bit more live feel, the vocal at least.

thanks for sharing how you got that beautiful piano. I have several vsti that are pretty good, if I ever develop the chops for a solo piece, I’ll have a start for getting it “right”. I always start with TTS, and since it’s a rock mix, end up leaving it.

Just got the Groove 3 code from Izotope...
How long did that take?
I ask because I jumped on the JRR deal, $68 for the MPS3 seems a "no brainer" (I would be renewing my G3 sub next month anyway).

Plus, all this "chatter" got my GAS beyond a tolerable level: thanks, I think?

Good point, something I had forgotten that Jim explained to me when we set my Cat up.
I'm a stickler for "redundancy" so I have a drive in every slot, for samples the 1T m.2 has me "covered" for the stuff I use most.
I have a second sample drive, SSD, for the lesser used libraries.
I never partition the OS drive for fear that when reinstalling the OS image, we all image frequently right?, I'll format the entire drive.

My StudioCat #1 (Win 7, 9 years old in December) is still running strong and is now my "Office" DAW.
My general use Office machine is Win7x86, consequently I can't run CbB, so it no longer is a "DAW"; just QuickBooks, FireFox, etc.
Win 7, though not "supported" is a solid OS, (I'm running my embroidery machines {3 computers} on XP machines); I'm not worried about "support".
StudioCat#2, my Studio machine is a screamer! However, had I waited a year, how much extra "bang for my buck" could StudioCat given me?
Think about it; SSD, m.2, RAM, these prices are all dropping, often drastically, almost on a daily basis.
I know its hard, but I would save my money, you'll get far more mileage that way.
Play the long game here, IF your current machine fails; well then all bets are off...

He makes a good case for the m.2 as the C drive. if the MOBO supports two m.2 drives, go for it. One caveat, I would keep the OS “lean and mean” prices are certainly coming down, but no need for 1T OS drives. Where the m.2 shines on my system is loading samples.

My studio rig I shutdown when I'm done; but I might not be back for a while.
My office rig runs 24/7, always has; so I don't think its an issue at all.
