I got sucked in by the "Sonar For Life" campaign. Sonar was my first ever DAW, and it lasted about a year.

Zinc - you need it. You can take a simple drum and synth loop and apply all kind of weirdness to it. I can spend HOURS playing around with this.

Yeah - me too. Its a common complaint of Cubase Windows users - from what I've read, it's due to the common codebase they use for the Windows and Mac platforms. The UI does take some getting used to.

Run the XLN Installer. Just the Addictive Keys seems to have an update.

I went to Cubase after Sonar died. I haven't regretted it (even though Cakewalk is alive and well). Midi and support for external devices in Cubase is unmatched. Expression maps and per note expression are highlights.

Great prices on Cubase. Wish they would have discounted their updates as well.
