  1. That's what I thought, but this has one playable octave. That's not truly a lite version. That's a severely limited demo.
  2. Been there, Larry. Keep us updated. Hopefully you'll get it worked out soon.
  3. I used to mainly use Sampletank for their synth patches and Tron libraries from Dave Kerzner's company. I did read about importing ST2 libraries into ST3 first in order to use them in ST4, but what a convoluted and non-user friendly hassle. I suppose I'll do it for the old SR libraries I have, but I doubt I'm going to buy more decade old libraries to go through that process.
  4. Wait, you're no longer cclarry. You're Larry. I'll note that for future sarcastic posts.
  5. It is probably a wise idea for sample developers to have a cclarry marketing strategy. And while you know I appreciate you, financially I may be better off blocking you! Although lately my strategy has been to only grab freebies and ultra low price stuff, temptation is never far away. It's like we're all kids and we hear the music playing that signifies cclarry's ice cream truck is passing by [and yes, it's not lost on me that the only people that analogy means anything to are Gen X and Boomers, but I liked it better than using a drug dealer and junkie analogy!] . We love you cclarry, but ironically, while saving us a lot of money, you're also making our credit card balances larger.
  6. I haven't tried importing any of the old SampleTank 2 libraries -- like SR is selling -- into SampleTank 4. Is it an easy process?
  7. Thanks for the advice @mibby and @bluzdog. It's appreciated.
  8. I have a bunch of Waves plugins from three years or more ago that I've never installed. I use Windows 10. Do experienced Waves users think it makes sense for me to get them upgraded or are they still likely to work well (I'm still waiting on my next DAW PC to be finished being built so I can't test the plugins out now)?
  9. I'm extremely sorry to read this, Terry. My thoughts and heart are with you and your family.
  10. Actually Plugin Boutique carries both the free and paid KLANG libraries. Granted there is a slightly better selection at the Cinematique Instruments site, but the point here that you're missing is that someone asked what inexpensive purchase they could make at Plugin Boutique in order to qualify for the free Carbon offer. Free libraries do not qualify for Carbon Electra.
  11. Larry linked to Organetta from AudioThing for $5 in another thread. I bought that. Seems nice, but requires the full version of KONTAKT. There's also the KLANG libraries for a little more money. Again, they require the full version of KONTAKT.
  12. I'm guessing Larry buys these by the dozen!
  13. I installed one I picked up for like 5 or 10 bucks -- I forgot which one, I own a bunch and I've never installed any of them until last weekend -- on my son's PC I think it was Xpand!2 -- and it crashed Windows 10 and I had to do a rollback to get the computer working again. AIR had a thread about it at KVR, a rep said it's a known problem in a thread from the middle of last year and that you should just choose the option to not install PACE and just install PACE later (he claimed that the company would soon release a fix, which hasn't happened in the half a year that has since passed). Except that wasn't an option. Consequently, I own around 7 licenses for their plugins -- never installed any of them -- and I'm now extremely hesitant to install any of them after that experience. And if you do searches, you can find AT LEAST hundreds of posts in the various forums of people with identical problems with AIR and Sonivox plugins (owned by the same parent company and they have mostly been coded a decade or more ago and not had regular updates).
  14. See, I think that it's pretty much we've all become addicts. If there's any therapists in this group, I'm certain we're all pretty easy to diagnose. But I'm at least keeping this time down to 5 bucks and AudioThing is a really good developer and those Carbon Electra presets sounded pretty good to me in the YouTube video I shared in another thread. Man, we're soooo easy for these developers and retailers to sell stuff too.
  15. I'm only guessing that you can relate to this, but I immediately searched my emails to see if I've ever purchased this library already before I place an order for it now!
  16. I was listening to the below video of Carbon Electra's presets last night and I liked what I heard. It's not like it's hard to find stuff I want to buy from Plugin Boutique. That's certainly not a problem for me and I'm guessing I'm not alone in that in this group!
  17. It's technically not on sale, but I just saw an ad for a VST I've never heard of before called Octane (and searched the forum and didn't find a single mention) aimed at musicians who make hip-hop and was thinking of picking it up for my son. Has anyone here used it or know of the developer? Is it any good? 240+ presets and it sounds decent in the videos and demos and is only $9.99 -- before I show it to my son I was hoping to get some feedback. I just know after buying AIR plugins that are a disaster to install, even if a plugin is cheap, it's not much of a deal if you can't get it to work. https://sonicsounds.com/octane
  18. But Larry they're always free.* *Okay, I'm totally just messing with you to reference a recent Facebook post. I'm from Chicago where kidding with your friends like that is an honored tradition.
  19. They should give Larry a commission on sales and be happy! Seriously, if I were a dev, I would be very grateful for Larry. I'm a sample and VST user and very grateful for Larry. I wouldn't get a fraction of the freebies and deals I get without his posts!
  20. That sucks. I own a small dot com and can't even tell you how many attacks we have on our site per day. It's become insane over the past decade. Security is so important, but it's pretty clear that a lot of small business -- including small music developers and retailers that we use -- don't have great security practices or even very thorough web processes at all (it seems a lot of them just use WordPress templates and go). Be careful where you store your data folks. It's the reason I never store credit card data on small sites; I use PayPal or other third-party online payment services.
  21. Hahahahaha! They went all in on this demonic sale!
  22. While I've advised Orange Tree Samples and had a lot of input in the initial Evolution libraries and Greg and I are friends, I started out as an obsessive guitar sample library user who thought Greg's guitar and bass libraries were amazing (and they continue to be amazing; I can't share the names, but a bunch of musicians I look up to are customers, including a major movie composer that owns another sample brand). I know and like Troells too and own a dozen or so of his libraries, and I just bought one of his string libraries I really like (Intimate Studio Strings). I own 8Dio's Steel Strings Strum and Solo libraries. It's really not comparable to Orange Tree Samples Evolution libraries. Orange Tree Samples Evolution libraries are basically guitar libraries that you can do anything with. They don't use loops/phrases/sampled chords like 8Dio's guitar libraries, but use single notes that enable you to do any chord imaginable, any strum imaginable. The 8Dio libraries are more phrase-based libraries, with sampled chords and patterns and the electric guitar one doesn't have all of the various types of guitar sounds sampled that Evolution libraries have, nor do they have the extensive amp and effects like Evolution has (watch the 8Dio videos and you'll have a good understanding of it and then watch the Orange Tree Samples videos to have a good understanding of their libraries). Nor does it have the extensive, user-friendly scripting that Evolution has, and I think, especially when it comes to sophisticated guitar libraries that scripting is pretty much as important as the sample quality -- and frankly, I don't think anyone has equaled Greg Schlaepfer, the owner of Orange Tree Samples, when it comes to scripting guitar libraries. (Greg started out scripting libraries for some other very impressive developers before Orange Tree Samples was established as the premier guitar deep sample library developer on the market.) My opinion is, if you like what you hear in the 8Dio videos and are okay with the limitations, pick it up. But when you want something that is deep and without limits and realistic enough that you can use it in your final production, Evolution libraries are as good as it gets.
  23. Wait. I've missed some of these (and other) freebies by a day or so and kicked myself for it, but the fact that it's even possible for Larry to miss a freebie helps put things into perspective. Thanks for sharing that Larry. I now forgive me.
  24. I've been downloading these on my laptop (I'm still waiting on my new DAW PC, going stir crazy). Has anyone loaded and played any of these drum libraries that can share their thoughts? I'm curious.
  25. It's funny, most of the time, before I complete a digital music related purchase, I search this forum to see if you've posted an additional discount for it! So, you stating no extra discount is pretty much the okay for me to stop searching! Haha. Happy New Year, cclarry. I see you've been posting all morning -- don't forget to take some time to relax and enjoy your day. Thanks for keeping us all informed on the best deals and freebies.
