  1. Thanks @Philip G Hunt . I did upload the new mix, but as it used the same URL as the previous file, there was apparently some kind of glitch. I renamed the URL and now it works. [EDIT: I just realized that I forgot to do a fade out at the end. I'll fix it after I make the next round of adjustments to the mix.]
  2. I realized that the track I uploaded had a great deal of clipping/distortion and went back and fixed things, although I'm not sure if the drums should come up in the mix. I'd love to get input on the mix and suggestions for improving the mix.
  3. @Larry T. Thanks for the kind remarks, it's greatly appreciated. This is the mix with the synths mixed up front and guitars mixed lower.
  4. My original version of John Lennon's classic song, "Instant Karma." Constructive criticism, especially on mixing, is welcomed. EDIT: I replaced the below SoundCloud link, as the version I put up previously was greatly distorted. EDIT 2: Below is the latest version of the song.
  5. Pop Rocks??? Pop Rocks are awesome!!!
  6. I don't think I've done a single rock project that didn't use at least one Orange Tree Samples library. I'm dying for a certain OTS bass library to be released.
  7. I always wait for a sale. I've seen, I believe, sales that are around 30-35% and as much as 50% off ADpacks on sales.
  8. Come on, @cclarry! Why do you think Father's Day sales are the worst ever this year? We must know!
  9. I originally recorded this a year ago as my son was about to get his driving permit. I since decided to remix it, bringing up the electric guitars to make it more aggressive than my earlier mixes. I already anticipated people asking me to bring up my voice in the mix and I turned it up as loud as I can handle it! Any constructive criticism is welcomed.
  10. The other day I saw a video in my Facebook feed for the intro of The Who performing "Love Reign O'er Me." It's always been one of my favorite rock songs and The Who was the band, that as a 7 yr old kid, inspired me to become a rock drummer (my first instrument is piano, but I played drums in a family band with my siblings starting at age 4), which I was until an injury stopped me from playing more than 20 years ago. So I went over to my home recording studio and played this, an improvised instrumental version of the song 's verse and chorus (ironically, no intro and no bridge). My playing will never be what it was, but I felt I did a decent job on this. It's by no means great playing or a precise version of the song, but it was pretty inspired and I hope that comes through. No loops or programmed parts were used.
  11. Thanks for the review, @Vernon Barnes. As I shared, I thought the demos sounded good, but I wasn't totally certain they were a fit for me. Getting feedback from other musicians in the forum who have bought the expansions is helpful.
  12. I kinda like it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get this one. I think I need to give it a few more listens. What do you think folks?
  13. I know of another developer doing something very similar several years ago. It's a real shame how greed, selfishness and poor ethics destroy some people and businesses.
  14. In case you're reading, Facets, trademark infringement includes when a name is close to the trademarked name. Consequently, Vender is absolutely a trademark infringement on Fender. There are other ways you can name your product to convey that its a Fender without infringing on a trademark. Consider how EastWest calls their Beatle-esque library package "Fab Four" as opposed to "The Beatles," or as you did, "The Beatle." Fab Four is an obvious reference to The Beatles, but apparently, Fab Four wasn't trademarked.
  15. You know @RexRed I was playing more of your songs over at ReverbNation and your tune "Tender is the Light" really grabbed me. It has this classic sound to it and your falseto is also superb (I'm no singer, I'm a former drummer, but I have an enormous appreciation for talented singers, as I found working with them a great joy). Your voice just sounds so familiar and enjoyable. It totally fits next to legendary singer/songwriter voices like Harry Nilsson and verges on country. In a just world, you would be signed.
  16. Thanks! I will upload a remixed version based on recommendations in the near future.
  17. Everything I have of his is really nice. He really puts out high quality libraries that sound really good to my ears.
  18. Really nice songwriting and playing -- and your voice is really, really good. Kudos.
  19. I went through this one pretty quickly, but I'm fairly good with how it turned out. I know very little about mixing so I welcome any advice.
  20. I'm just about ready to pull the trigger. I'm just waiting a little bit to see if Larry posts a discount code!
  21. I am on Win 10. So you're saying if I upgrade to MS5 that my existing projects using MS4 will no longer work?
  22. I have Melodyne 4 studio. Do those of you who've upgraded from 4 to 5 find that it's a worthwhile upgrade? I'm on the fence.
  23. I use that technique in conversations, as you may have noticed!
  24. One thing, their copy states that their vinyl samples are recorded from commercial vinyl albums. That's copyright infringement for sure. It's certainly the AnyDayLong guy and he's affiliated with Past To Future. I've bought PTF stuff for years, but don't know anything about them, so I can’t vouch for how legit they are. But it's clear neither are great respectors of copyright laws when it comes to samples lifted from vinyl records. Their drum samples seem fine. They're not detailed and I don't think they lifted them from vinyl records, but I don’t know for sure. This dev does seem rather shady.
