  1. Steve,
Great performance! Amazing how close you came to the original song. And a great concept bringing an old Beatles' song to life with the AI images.  You might try some Ken Burns style zooms and pans for added interest but just my opinion. I like this one a lot.

  2. Jeff,
That's a beautiful and emotional tribute to your mother. I did the same for my mom a while ago and I get all blubbery when I listen to it now and then.  You might experience the same.

  3. A Walk in the Woods

I started this with a really short Vangelis phrase that I liked and built it up to this.
I added some old movie dialog bits here and there. I like the way they sound in the music.

    Thanks for listening/comments.

  4. Music for Armageddon. Didn't expect it to be so perky and with a taste of the Ventures.
🙂    Nicely done esp the xylophone (?).

  5. This song has a stronger melody than others I've heard from you  and maybe that's what you meant by it being a bit different? Anyway that's how I took it. Wonderful video as usual Nigel.

  6. I always like your lyrics.  Kind of off beat sometimes but humorous, even in a sad song like this.  Really like the guitar accompaniment.  I think the chorus could be emphasized a bit more, maybe with more string presence, something like that.  But top notch song for sure.  Enjoyed it a lot.

  7. Well that was completely different from what I'm used to hearing from you Steve.
It did put a smile on my face and got my toes tapping. Nice choice of instruments/sounds esp that  little whistle-y thing. Great job.

  8. Thanks Gary.  I think melodies can be like works of art.   A song like Danny Boy is just as beautiful as a Van Gogh painting IMO.

Thanks Treesha.   Can't beat a  road trip thru southwest red rocks country!

  10. Yeah maybe a little timing issue here and there but doesn't take anything away. Boy I really like the bluesy solo guitar in there. As always a great story done in the blues style.

  11. Road Trip

This song had been languishing on a backup drive for years. I made a few repairs, replaced some parts and polished the fenders. Ready to hit the road now.

  12. Here's one of those things that probably everyone knew about except me (as usual).

    Windows 11 machine.

I have a couple of external hard drives (drives within enclosures) that I use for backing up and transferring video files and other large files. Sometimes it takes hours to back them up.

I just found out that if you enable write caching on the drives then the backups are much faster,  3-4 times faster in my case. But you have to properly eject the drives when you're done with them which isn't an issue since I've always done that.

Go to Device Manager -> Disk drives -> right click on drive in question -> Properties ->Policies -> select Better performance -> Enable write caching on this device

Would be nice to hear your experience moreover.

Mikael,  here's the AI song from Suno  that I mentioned above.   Not bad.  I was going for a spacy, ethereal kind of track . I like it esp the vocal.   Kind of wonder though where the AI engine or whatever it's called  gets the melodies and arrangements and lyrics.

I'm going to take the song down in a couple of days since it's not really mine.

I listened to your previous post (Little Creek -nicely done!) and then this one with the added in vocalist and other additions and gotta say I'm impressed with the result.

I tried Suno.com -- put in a phrase and it came back with a pretty good song including lyrics that made sense.  The vocalist sounded a lot like yours.

Not sure how I feel about all this but have to admit I'm impressed.

  15. Brings back a memory of a super religious family member back in the 70s who hated the song because of the lyrics.

Very well done cover, Steve.  Really like the Incan (?) flute especially.
