Lol, I feel your pain but...(and i know you know this), it doesn't change the location - it just makes it's own ala Steinberg ?. Waves is the worse though by far! https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/211577305-How-to-Change-the-Install-Locations-in-Native-Access

Yes, that caught my eye .

Yep, tempting. I'll probably snag it later this month. Noticed on the NI site my update from Komplete 9 to 12 is $99 which I will probably do instead? Seems like a reasonable update.

Jim et. al, I've had very good communication and service through their US sales Dept. Bring it up (civilly I might add :)) with them and I believe they will sort it out. You may have to be a registered user and logged in to get to the correct place but you might try sales@magix.net and/or prosupport@magix.net If these fail to produce what you need, PM me and I can give you another email directly to one of the sales people I've dealt with. IMHO, it is a great deal.

Great, thanks!

Thanks for the info guys - didn't want to double up but likewise didn't want to pass up a good deal if it added a niche of it's own in the production process.

Even if you have EZD & SD3?

Yes, I have ARC2 as well and had been tempted to try Sonarworks but haven't pulled the trigger. I have a license for Reference 3 on my Surface Pro. I a single license is only for a single computer correct? I don't use headphones except for tracking on my main DAW but it would be nice to have . I'll have to check for an upgrade to 4 for the SP.

In other words, common sense isn't very common? I'm usually good at remembering where I saw what I need when I need it . The exception to that is the screwdriver!! Why is it that every time I need a Phillip's head driver I can only find a Flat head one and every time I need a flat head screwdriver I can only find the Phillip's one!?!? Yes, I actually own two of the multi-tip ones but of course those I can't find in the aforementioned times!

Thanks Kenny, It is the ALBERT-C ( REA-EVOLUTION 2.0.1 ) by albertxxxx theme. I just set up a starting template by adjusting colors and windows for quick and easy flow. There are a couple of niggles with it but it's just a feel-good place to start.

Good info. On first read I thought "this is quite involved" but in practice it really takes no more than a minute or two. Only thing or two I would add is: 1. Don't think you have to record the whole length! Record a bar or two, trim to a complete bar. Ctl+L the clip (or right-click and choose Groove-clip Looping). Now just left-click and drag the right edge of the clip to the length needed. 2. To save time next time: add the Metronome Aux track (steps 1-5) to your favorite default template and Save! Thanks Morten!

Frankly, I think you're overcomplicating the mix-> master process. Doing as you describe would basically give you what you have in your project now. While msmleod's suggestion would help, you would still have to do two separate exports, i.e. one for individual tracks (which negates the need for freezing as this would be done on export) and one for busses. However, this defeats the purpose of stems in the first place. Stems would require the requisite Busses setup with ALL tracks going to their respective busses Doing this, you would end up with much fewer tracks to deal with but a little more flexibility at Mastering. In my mind, routing is the issue, not export. Do your routing (even if you have the odd track going to a bus with nothing on it) and export Busses as shown below. You may know all this and I may be missing your intent (my apologies) so in that case nothing else comes to mind. Perhaps you could direct us to a Live tute you refer to. EDIT: if you're simply wanting the ability to adjust the dry/wet mix of Buss FX post export, you could setup two busses for each grouping - one dry and one wet. At least this way you are still minimizing/consolidating tracks for Mastering but giving you additional flexibility? But if so, why not just apply Buss FX in the Mastering project?
