If i put the master in Mute, no sounds come off. If i press play all is mute. Only silence. Do you mean this kind of test?

Unfortunately i cannot make like this during the mixing process because all would go to red. I'm on the ceiling of the gain that it give me the permission to use to stay on "green zone". Also if i mix my track with a commercial backing track, is the same, i have to put it down if i want to use it. Now i would like also to analyze some points: 1)the quality of the source, if there is something that could be important. 2)try different limiters: with Limiter no6 i've reached some nice final results.. but to reach the same volume of other commercial videos, with a clean and nice sound, with this configuration, this audiocard, this setup.. not always is easy. There are different free plugins and i'm trying to get the differences using similar work. The problem of the lower final volume.. is that the people who listen have a bad impression if they change video and the difference in level is big. Also.. if they want to listen as the same level of other video they have to put up the volume of the speakers.. and with some speakers it will be a worse general clean in the sound.

It's a bit different the situation: the song doesn't have peaks that you can see at tracks level. Not withouth the Loudmax. It's not true that i'm trying to apply directly the limiter withouth have made before an analyze of the gains.. gain staging or other.. if you mean that the problem of the peak was due to the previous work...it was not like this. Yes.. my work can have some problems.. but the reality is a bit different. I worked on the gains and in the song there was "NO peaks problem" withouth loudmax. How you can see in this photo this is the value withouth loudmax: -6 is the peak of the final project( i mean the whole project). So it's much lower... The low LUFS in this particular project i think it's due also on a particular equalization. But the important it's not this: There are 2 points: 1)I've understood now.. thinkin of it,, that there was just one problem, in one track: one percussion on guitar. The sound of this little, little, soft, difficult to ear.. percussion. It was so thin that i didn't give importance to this.. but this caused peak only when the song is "powered" with some limiter adjustement. Like a butterfly effect. It was just this. This little sound.. with the empowering made the project skip the peak limit set from the limiter.. and go in the red just after the limiter process. That was the peak.. and that's why earing the song you shouldn't have the impression of where this peak was. The sound of this percussion was almost "invisible", and made the "peak fixed" of the limiter don't work, skip the level.. It's the first time that it happen to me.. Withouth this.. the peak set work perfectly with both the limiters(limiter no6 or Lodnmax). Don't go so high. I made it lot of times.. so.. i can just work on adjusting the peak of this particular sound, particular track. Withouth make nothing in the other tracks that are the "big part" of the work. And the "big work" didn't cause the peak. This is the important. 2) i have often a particularity: i reach a good sound staying on the green. Checking gains how is been usually reccomended me.. and withouth go to the red during the analysis of the gains... just i have a final volume of the project that is not pair to some commercial videos. I used that "setting" in the last part, to "empower" it withouth changing (or changing too much) the sound, usually works. After i can work on gains again and find other solutions.. for sure.. but i think was important say the particular nature of that peak and how i think it comes from before arranging other changing.

Hi. I'm trying to use Loudmax on my next project. The last one was made with Limiter no6. In this case how can you see in the photoes, it gave me much volume and it's important but i have a problem: The peak max. I've set Loudmax with the limit Out: -1 Db. As peak. LUFS are ok... but i have 0.3 on the Loudness meter measuring it! Why? You can see the photoes now. It seem that something isn't go good.

Yes. That's clear. I would have a question about if it's possible. About mastering but the two things are connected: For don't going to red.. and also too much orange.. i had to reduce the gain of the guitar and the level of backing track, to put them at the same level. The final level.. was too low and so.. i used limiter no6. I've put a peak on -1Db... as usual.. and put a little bit of enpowering. Now i have the same level of some commercial Youtube videos, very good level, -11.5 LUFS integrated that i can bring also to -12, it's not a problem, the sound seem to me clean for a homemade work. But: How you can see in the photo i had to put the gain of peak limiter menu at +8, threshold to -1, Mode soft etc.. Is that normal putting the gain to +8 or should i find another way? Is too much? Also i used in limiter, as you can see in the photo: compressor and protection. Another thing is this: If i would add also Loudmax as maximizer with some settings to Limiter no6 i could enpower it much more.. but i prefer don't make it. I didn't make it. The sound would result a bit compressed in that way and withouth real attack.

If for example i record a cover over a backing track, i have just 2 tracks. 1. Backing track. 2. Guitar theme and solo over the the backing track. I can have lot of different tracks if i cut the solo in different parts... but just 2 tracks play toghether at the same time. In that case could i considerate similar approach as single track? Or a bit lower.. For example -8db the guitar track, and -8db the backing track ?

This happen to me connecting directly the guitar to the audiocard and using just TH3 as amplifier simulator and effects. Also when i set the input level on the soundcard if i set it with TH3 on.. the automatic system reccomend me a very low input level, if i set it withouth with TH3 off, it reccomend me an higher level. Usually the persons sets at -18 the nude track and apply the effects after i see, but in that case with guitar the drop is really big, so i have a doubt on this.

If it use a different parameter of MIDI key i will change it in the next project. I will start directly with this Plugin eventually. I can't change the value now because if i make this i move also other parts that are written, and SSL would read it differently, and now they sounds good, i'm in the end of this project.

How the Splash Choke sounds to you in Slate Drum free edition and how you set his level, if it work obviously? It would be really interesting to know because you use the same VSt effect that i've selected. At the moment this is the one that seem to me plays better on my project. You could have a direct experience.

The midi map seemed me correct, but if i play on the piano roll, for example Db4, it plays Db2 in the map. This is the first point. I show you with a photo of map, i'm touching Db4 and you see Db2 in the map. I'm not expert in drum map, sorry, i don't know what does it mean. But the problem is not only this, for example one mute is the splash choke. All the chokes in the map seem muted or very low and impossible to ear. Not only the splash. The regulation of his level is the same of splash box and splash edge, but the other 2 have sounds.. the choke not. It's an example, it happen in different note that i ear like mute or too low. Here i tried to change the splash choke with splash with Crash right edge in the same key: C#2 49, now pressing this key, that in the piano roll il C#4 i ear a sound. It's not the sound that i want but i ear anything... never happened with the other plugin. I've tried lot.

Yes. I'm trying too the SSD free version, just i have a problem: The sound was nice but, when i copy and paste the midi file of the drum, with this plugin i don't ear some cymbals, i've selected different options. Now i try the MODO free version also.

Whith my version and i think license i have only SI Drum Kit installed with Cakewalk. I would need to split the midi file if i want to use different VST drums for different pieces of drum.

Hello all. I'm trying to write the drum in a song by myself, i'm guitarist, because i couldn't find a real drummer who play the song of my project in my City. It is a bit too complicated. So i've written the drum parts, i would have 2 question: 1)Could you tell me wich is the best free VST plugin? I've tryed first time the one with Cakewalk installed, after i tried MT Power Drums, the free and obviously limited version, after i've tryed the BFD 1 free version, obviously limited also. Now i have a sound that in some points i like.. but.. it continue too me to sound a bit too electronic or faulse in some parts, one in some cymbal, the other in the Snare. I would like to find the more similar to a real drum, obviously if is possible.. and i know that for free is really difficult. 2)i have no idea of how to arrange a coda part.. i'm not drummer. Are there some example of a coda in rock- bit prog.. song?

Yes, the problem was this. 1st screen i had an audio track selected. In the second i had selected one midi drum track, i was working on this and i was visualizing the screen in that way. I've un-selected the midi track, no track selection, and now i see again the view as before.

Now i can't see the Main output. Is it a good screen resolution? I have a little confusion sometime because DAW screen is much bigger than my resolution permit.

Hello all. I've got a problem in visualization or view. 1080 p i think it's the maximum resolution of my 43" Smart tv that i'm using as monitor. In the start i was viewing all the main output controls on the left side of the screen, this is the example.

Ok. The projext it's quite big, 30 tracks, it's not online, the tracks are segments and so.. to listen well a person need to have more than one audio tracks, how could i show the project to other persons? the midi file is small.

I would have a question on the same subject, but now the drum is a midi file, and the project is audio with some midi. The song has got lot of time changes, the midi should follow the time changes, i've tried to copy and past the midi file. In the first part the drum is ok.. after.. go a little bit out. Is there a way to syncronize midi file with an audio project with different time changes?

I've made a final version. It's -11.2 LUFS integrated. Much better. It's not so different than some commercial videos as volume. Now penalty is 0 on Youtube. I think it's a really good compromise for volume, i ear it with good volume even with mobile phone.

I've made a new version: -9.9 LUFS integrated is the new value result. I've just changed some parameter expecially on Limiter app and changed some gains. Now it should be into the interval -9 / -14 , if the mix would sound fine. I've made the test and for Youtube penalization should be only 0.1 if is correcvt.

This is the final project analisys.. -6 Integrated LUFS... for Youtube it's not good, right? Should be -14 , or i make usually something like -12 or similar.. What should i do, or change, for making somethings withouth losing volume final, that now is similar to other commercial Youtube videos?

This is how the limiter is working.. in the end of prject. Photo 1. (Limiter is applied on the master channel). A The second shows the master of the entire project: it stays on green. Photo 2. Just a little orange sometimes, but really little.

Hi all. I would have a question on the same post. I've got 30 tracks project. With guitar, drum, bass, voice i will put after. I have problems with LUFS. I try to explain: With other projects using similar effect, and making limiter in the end, i didn't have the same problem. All worked quite good. In this project: I have track 28, with new solo recording. Every track should be under the -18 of Vmeter, that in Vmeter is set to the 0. This track goes lot upper... Should i reduce the gain on the main track? if i make this, i'm afraid don't have enogh volume in the end. Photo 1 is the track 28 with effect, TH3.. 7.4 in red.. Photo 2 is the same track 28 withouth effect, TH3, really lower.
