Just installed NA2 .. and indeed, relative to NA1 it is a resource hog cpu wise etc.

BUT I did see updates not in NA1 and we really only use NA to update, add new or uninstall so its not on all the time

Depending on what I own and what updates are being posted I'm sometime firing it up a couple of times a week.
With NA1 was not an issue, with NA2 - if this remains the experience I'm going try like hell to avoid installing or updating anything related to NI.

  2. Installed v3.3 because I was missing updates.
I now have the updates but gaaawd...
They must have it running in debug mode - I'm using a i7 with abundant resources and it runs sooo slowly.
No excuse for such crappy performance in a publicly released app.

I have little plate, do I have to pay 59+59 to get it integrated with the effect rack?

I think the confusion is because the effect rack can be purchased as a standalone produce.
If you have 5.2 the effect rack is included and would assume that with 5.3 that is still true (but we'll find out)
The way they have announced things is a bit confusing.

  4. PRICING

SuperPlate will be sold individually for $149 MSRP or as a trade-up from Little Plate to SuperPlate for $59.

Soundtoys 5.4 will be available for $499 MSRP or as an upgrade from Soundtoys 5.3 to 5.4 for $59.

SuperPlate can be added to the Effect Rack plug-in for $59.

I don't have Kontakt Factory Library 2 yet to compare with, but this is something to think about when the time comes... I'm waiting for a better deal on the Kontakt 7 update from 6.

I'm waiting for NI's summer sale, typically 50% off.

I didn't think that sharing codes by forum users, even if it's bringing some benefit for them too, has anything to do with "keeping commercial vendors from posting sales", therefore I personally was disappointed with that thread closure.

The policy in question is to prevent posts where the poster makes a profit from the links shared.
The policy does cut down significantly on the spamming this forum was getting hit with i.e. same deal constantly being reposted or updated so as to keep it on first page.

    (2) The last time I looked, the licenses are for thirty years.

Just a note if you even think there's possibility that your song/project is going to be reworked or remixed in 30 or more years you probably should export stems as the likelyhood of your project opening in your 2053 DAW are remote.

Edit: I wish I would have done that for a couple things I did with Project 5...

    • Further optimized spectrum analyzer code in SplitEQ

Well, thank you, sir. The price you mentioned surprised me, so I went back to my AAS account and noticed that the upgrade price from Tassman to CV-2 has been lowered from $59 to $49 this afternoon. Still a tad too much according to me, but definitely a step in the right direction.

Thanks Canopus... Owning both Tassman and CV-1 I'm now less impressed at the upgrade price.

Usually I have to buy 3 licenses of a Waves product.   I aint doin that USB drive either.   I have 3 iLoks and those never move where I can hardly find most of my USB drives.

The past couple of years I've been keeping my Waves licenses on a small USB that lives on my USB hub, haven't had any problems with it.

  11. Brillant marketing on Waves part - like the Coke/Coke Classic move in 1985 regardless of their motivations it raised Cokes profits that year 14%.
For Wave - tons of free publicity, lots of sales generated by people trying to obtain permanent licenses or WUP before the deadline and they flushed out all the old license codes that were out in the wild.   Despite some potentially grump customers - a win/win situation for Waves.
