The 6050 Ultimate channel strip shows up for me as $199.00 $49.00 https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/mcdsp-6050-ultimate-channel-strip-native the McDSP 6050 Ultimate Channel Strip HD https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/mcdsp-6050-ultimate-channel-strip-hd matches the pricing you mentioned. There's no listed spec difference that I see - yet, still looking... Edit: found the difference... So for most of us HD does not justify the added cost.

Everything carries a risk, even do nothing... Windows 10 is currently free, but it may not stay this way - so take advantage of it. As previously said make a backup - but do a proper, the I can do a total restoration from scratch type backup. Then upgrade your system - if all is well, great. Now you can obsess about something else & spend your change on plugins or sample libraries or whatever. - if your system bricks, not likely but shit happens, then use your backup to revive your now verified as obsolete hardware. At least you'll know that the day when you have to pony up for a new system is going to be sooner than you hoped. If the upgrade is a success you might even find your system runs better under Windows 10, many people do.

Isn't instagram one of those mail order dispensaries for medical grade 'hemp' products that you can now get legally in some states? I'll have to ask one of my kids.

Happy New Year to all my gassy friends! May 2020 be the best deal for us all!

You could lend a hand? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Not trying to be snarky but manpower = money. For a free program, QA staffing is going to be limited so they depend on 'early access' testing to catch bugs they missed. The more people participating, the fewer bugs appear in the release. https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/36-early-access-program-new/ "The Early Access Program provides pre-release versions of Cakewalk to the public for general testing and issue reporting. We provide Early Access builds to help us get better real world test coverage from users, which is useful to improve the reliability and quality of our releases. Participation is 100% voluntary."

Updated V4.31 (2019/12/20) MIDI Program Change preference is now saved into session instead of global preferences, so each instance can now use different MIDI channels. It is also saved in the user default preset. VST3: added program change support for VST3 plug-in format. Mac: much faster GUI rendering on recent Mac OS systems. Mac: fixed user interface not properly shown on retina displays in some applications built with the 10.14 Mac OS SDK (Cubase 10.5 for example). Mac: fixed settings panel rendering issues in dark mode on Mac OS Mojave and newer. VST: the user interface is now properly resized in Cubase on Windows when loading skins. Dropped support for legacy RTAS plug-in format.

Blue Cat releases Freeware Plug-ins Pack II https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Bundle_FreewarePack This was released on 12/20 but wasn't noticed / mentioned here. The good old (and new) Blue Cat Audio freeware audio plug-ins gathered together in a single package: this bundle contains a wide range of premium modulation effects, a guitar amp simulator, a single and dual-channel equalizer, a unique midi-controllable gain suite, as well as a professional spectrum analyzer. Also, as previously announced by our friend Larry, Blue Cat's Winter Sale is ongoing till Jan 10th...
-
Any idea of how long sale lasts?
-
Complete version does...
-
Assuming that those controls can be mapped to automation - you can use something like Blue Cat’s Peak Meter Pro to map the guitar’s volume level to levels on the Wall of Sound controls
-
Yes, very useful in film or video sound tracks, especially suspense or horror genre.

Info extracted from https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_PatchWork/ It is possible to chain effects in series or create up to 8 parallel chains that can be activated independently. This lets you create your favorite effects or instruments configurations within the plug-in, without the need for multiple busses. These configurations can be saved as presets and recalled instantly, or shared with multiple DAWs, using any plug-in format (full list below). Use the built-in audio effects to add color to your own plug-in chains. For each plug-in slot, latency compensation, presets management, undo/redo integration, audio i/o selection and individual plug-in bypass are included for optimal operation. The plug-in also stores the position of the window for each plug-in so that the layout is restored with your session or saved with presets. Also, sub plug-ins can be automated or controlled with external control surfaces using Blue Cat's PatchWork parameters mapping capabilities. Input and output level meters are also available to monitor the signal that is dispatched to inserted plug-ins, including side chain and aux channels.

Or create effects chains that you use can use between DAWs!

get another 30% off (of $79) by using code: HG376GT during intro sale (so $55.30) But no samples included... and it's a sample player (uses Kontakt player). Might be really nice if you don't have Battery or other drum oriented sample player.

You've got a lot of important private information. If your home or office caught fire would you be able to quickly recover critical information? If your home or office got burgled would you be at risk for identity theft as well? If you were on vacation and a family member had a health emergency could you provide the info needed so that they received timely care? You need to have an encrypted* data store (in case device is lost or stolen). *not a password encrypted word or excel file as they can be easily cracked. It should be syncable between different platforms i.e. phone and/or computer so that the loss or crash of a device doesn't result in data loss. Examples of important private info: bank account #s computer login info credit card #s driver's license, passport or other ID's numbers insurance policy #s medical - healthplan membership, prescription info, etc. even Dr. names membership #s & information (AutoClub, NetFlix, etc.) music libraries, VSTs, etc. (not necessarily needed for privacy but convenient to look up.) social security #'s (personal, family) software serial #s Subscriptions web site logins and probably more... There are a number of inexpensive or even free multiplatform password/data safe programs out there and they let you easily look up or verify things. I use SplashID (I'm not associated with them in any fashion) and I know it's not the best or the cheapest, but I've been using it 15 or more years and I'm use to it (and I paid for a lifetime cloud supported membership a couple of years back on sale). Whether you're a software programmer, network admin, computer DAW user, generic computer user, etc. - almost every fringin app, library, update has a serial #, every vendor a website which requires a login. Even if you use the same username & password on each account are you going to remember each vendor's website? Are you married? have kids? have aging parents or relatives that you have to support in some fashion? they all have data requirements... Once you start using a password safe you'll realize just how much crap you can stop trying to memorize (just to end up forgetting it anyway) and how handy it can be. Currently I've got over 1,800 entries in mine and I find that I use it daily.

My question exactly.

I was just able to connect. I'm in USA near Los Angeles. Currently installing another Massive X update, could have sworn i just did one yesterday...

SplashID. https://www.splashid.com/ Runs on my Windows Desktop, iPhone, web browser - data is encrypted & syncs via the cloud.

I had almost a year and it added another

Good question, was wondering myself.
