Ok, again this is guess work at best so treat accordingly to your viewpoint........I had a similar issue a while back with some NI plugs that CW vst scan refused to pick up on even though they were in the same folder as others that it did, so I tried moving the offending items to a new folder and adding that to the vst scan path and then it worked. No idea how or why.

Speaking as someone who has never owned a waves plug-in, so read on at your own risk of wasting your life, what occurs to me looking at your post is..... 1) What happens if you disable scan on start up? (Thinks to self: why does anyone have that enabled anyway?) Are all the plug-ins you would expect to see in the vst3 menu and available to your project? 2) Is WaveShell-VST3 9.7_x64.vst3 just an older version of WaveShell-VST3 9.91_x64.vst3 so it's looking for something that is superceded by the other? 3) What happens if you move the 9.7 folder to another location (ie out of the scan path) ? 4) Where the fook is scook when you actually need him? 5) That's a nice folder directory you have there. No hint at all of any folders that might cause a worldwide scandal.

I still use my old Yamaha workstation keyboard, which was a beast in it's day, but doesn't have the functionality required to make the most of VST instruments. For a while that didn't bother me at all, but once I came to realise that a midi controller keyboard was really the way to go, I soon discovered that there was nothing available that wasn't compromised in some way or other, so I delayed in the hope that somebody will provide one that isn't. I'd probably go for the SL3 if they made a 73/76 because the waiting gets old, but at the same time I would kick myself forever if I bought something that I didn't really want only to find that a week later somebody brought out the very thing I had been waiting for. The age old stick or twist dilemma, lol. I've been convinced for more years than I care to remember that buying a Roland A pro series would be a bad move because it's so old that there's bound to be a new version soon. Also, the side location of the various connections doesn't t work for me.

Yeah, c'mon Meng, pull your finger out and give us the quality midi controller keyboard we all deserve. We've already established for you that the competition really isn't up to much.

Have you/anyone else maybe unplugged or plugged in a USB device while it was off? Mine has been known to boot up when plugging in the wireless dongle thing for the keyboard/mouse after I have borrowed it to use elsewhere.

I'm not a pianist so it's not the actual keyboard experience that is the most important thing to me, I'm happy enough with a decent synth action, it's more the size of it, not just for keyswitches, but to take better advantage of the capabilities of Omnisphere WRT splits/layers, but I also want all the knobs/sliders/pads and preferably a Roland type mod wheel/pitch bend. What I would like is an "empty" Fantom 7 that would play nice with CW for sensible money. The current 88 controllers are just a bit too big for the space I have to play with. First world problems and all that and I know that there are ways around getting around them, I just think it would be nice to not have to.

Well, I guess if you're gonna take keyboard tips from anyone..........

Hard to argue with that. It is weird that nobody seems interested in making more decent quality ones. People can and do pay big $$ for lots of sample libraries, but then only have cheapo keyboards to use them with. Doesn't make sense to me. I even considered getting a Roland Fantom 7,which is all kinds of ridiculous because it would be so OTT for what I need, but it seems to be the only thing that ticks all the other boxes in so far as having the full set of controls on the right sized keyboard. That said, I read elsewhere that it doesn't play nice with CW. Roland seems to have pretty much limited their integration capabilities to Logic and Mainstage now. The way I see it is that if I have to compromise, then I may as well carry on using the compromised set up that I already have. It would just be nice to not have to.

I know it's relatively cheap, but when you watch the demos and see how the whole thing bends when being played it is a real turn off for me. To be fair they are not alone in this - most midi controllers feel like cheap toys to me. It also surprises me that virtually nobody goes beyond the 61 keys as many VST instruments stretch out further than that by the time keyswitches and stuff are included. It can't be just me that would willingly pay more for a decent quality 73 or 76 key version, or can it?

Not seeing any significant discounts here.

Not me - I'd have to buy a new PC first.

Thanks for taking an interest, but looking at posts on your own forum I think it's probably fair to say that the issue has already been raised.

It's a refreshing change around here to see someone who is prepared to share the contents of his special folder. -
Because of the horrible (lack of) contrast on the UI they could make it 100% off and I still wouldn't buy it.

Well, ok then...seeing as you asked.... Watching the demo video all I could think of was that somebody needed to tell the guy with the cymbals to put them down and walk away. (polite version)

I hate it when companies do that. I had one recently with both O's and zeros in that looked identical, but no combination of those would work, so what should have been a simple task was becoming quite the opposite. The serial was on my www pc and I was installing onto an offline DAW, so copy/paste could only be done in a convoluted way, which I was trying to avoid as it didn't seem like something that should be necessary, but when I had oh so carefully typed the various combinations several times to no avail, I gave up and copied the serial into notepad so that I could put it on a usb drive and copy/paste from that. I don't know where it came from, but before I did that it occurred to me to try changing the font in note pad to see if that helped and sure enough the new font displayed with a visible difference between O and zero. Which was all well and good, but I'd already tried that combo several times, so.................WTF? Turned out that the font used on the email of the serial also didn't show any distinction between I and 1! ??
