I am seeing some strange paths there. What folders are listed in Preferences - File - VST Settings > VST scan Paths (maybe show a screenshot) In mine, I only have 2. One for the VST2 plugins (a custom location) and another for the VST3 (which is the default). I have never had an issue with any plugin instalations. Of course I do custom installs and keep an eye on where the installer wants to put the DLL or VST3 files. I have Kontakt 7 full so I only have the VST3 version. If I had Kontakt 6 player, I would get the installer to place the VST2 DLL file in my custom folder.

This would be a Windows thing. Long shot here. Have you tried disabling both Nvidia “High Definition Audio Controller” entries? - done in Device Manager, under “System Devices” Another long shot (though less preferable - causes high power use) Open up Nvida Control Panel, and under “Manager 3D settings” set “Power Management Mode” to Prefer Maximum Performance. Thought of another long shot Start run > desk.cpl. Then scroll down to “Graphic Settings” and set Graphic preference for Sonar (I only have one card so I am not sure what would show here for two graphics cards)

Do a reset then scan. If that fails, enable scan log and see if the scan log reveals anything. See: (CTRL + F > "Scan Log") http://legacy.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=0x22B07

Most important laptop specs for Cakewalk
Promidi replied to jkoseattle's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
There are more important things than mere laptop specifications. Even more important than memory, disk space and CPU core count is getting the laptop tuned for Audio. Decrapifying it would be the first move as soon as you get it - you know, getting rid of the junk that manufacturers just cannot resist installing. Make sure as little as possible is running at start up. Make sure as little as possible is running in the background. Make sure all windows updates and the latest drivers for all hardware are installed. Also make sure you get a decent audio interface - one that comes with native ASIO drivers. Sure, you could use WASAPI, but ASIO will be better in the long run. Remember, ASIO is a batphone to your audio interface - that is, it bypasses much of the Windows audio subsystem. Even a 64gig ram, 4TB SSD and a 16 core intel CPU laptop would still run like a sack of potatoes if is not tuned properly. Note: All of this goes for a desktop or tower PC as well. -

Where do I find the official rollback installer for 2024 07?
Promidi replied to gmp's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
You cannot roll back CbB to a previous version. The only version of CbB that will authorise will be the latest version of the day. At the time of this reply, the latest version of CbB is 2024.08 Build 108. -
As a test, I created some pedal events. (CC64 > 127 , CC64 > 0) They showed up correctly in the staff view. With the smart tool selected, right drew a marquee around the pedal events and hit delete. The Pedal events were deleted. So yes, you can Delete pedal events in Staff View.

Installed synths not found in Synth Rack of existing projects
Promidi replied to Cobus Prinsloo's question in Q&A
Did you install the VST2 and VST3 versions of given synths. If you only installed one iteration if given synths, your project might have used another. Maybe your projects needs VST2 when only VST3 is available for example. Also, in Preferences - File - VST setting, you might want to deselect the options “Hide Related VST2 Plug-Ins”, and “Replace If Possible on Project Load” - see if that makes a difference. -
Import Ableton MIDI or audio clips into Cakewalk?
Promidi replied to charles kasler's question in Q&A
If Ableton saves MIDI files in the correct formant, Cakewalk will be able to open them. Try type 0 and Type 1 MIDI files to see which one gives better results. Remember to open the MIDI file in Cakewalk rather than import. That way, tempo, markers, and meter information, etc are also brought across. -

All My "Export File" presets have disappeared...
Promidi replied to Steve Patrick's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
These presets (for CbB) are stored in the registry in the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Core\Presets\{FD3918AE-AF3D-414B-8701-C9A02623E875} As an initial troubleshooting step, does the following key exist in your registry and is it populated. Here is what mine looks like (for CbB) -
XLR cables (shipped by Amazon.com USA)

Done! (on my PC anyway, courtesy Stylus) -
Shouldn't be (or at least not perceivable). That being said, given the choice, I would use USB. USB allows for multiple ports. This might not be relevant for the TD-50X. However, this is especially important when using your MIDI controller as a control surface. One port for the control surface functions, another for the MIDI functions.

What have you tried so far? From your previous post, it still might be Windows Update related. Uninstall and then reinstall your audio interface drivers. Update them if necessary - To do the version check, visually check manufacturer’s website for latest version rather than relying on any local software (even the manufacturer’s). I have told Windows that Windows Quality Updates are never to touch any drivers. Check Control Panel, “Programs and Features” then sort by “Installed On”, to see if any installed programs might have affected Cakewalk. Something outside of Cakewalk must have changed.

No it cannot. There are no CAL script commands that give access to clip colours.
