I'll whisper this: that's one of the good thing about Windows. It can still run some 25 year old programs without a problem*. * OK Windows 10 can't load the old .hlp help files for Sound Forge, but there is a fix for that.

I do see those offers at Humble Bundle and have been tempted in the past, but have always wondered whether I'd get any real use out of an update. Three years ago I picked up Corel Paint Shop Pro 2019 at a steal from Humble as an update to a beta of version 5 from 1998 ... I still use version 5.

I'm stuck at Sound Forge XP 4.0 that came free with a SoundBlaster from some time around or before 1997. It still gets used occasionally (on Windows 10) for topping and tailing samples (16 bit or lower samples only).

Going back 30 years or so I had a friend, Mr Noisy, who was a death metal DJ. He hated the music but saw a gap in the market.

I have this strange mental block where I can't pronounce his name properly. The best I can manage is E-mine 'em. I don't have any problem pronouncing M&Ms. It's just Eminem that throws me.
