Yeah, it might've been that. That occurred to me after I posted this. I wish I would've kept the project as it was but I corrected it with the new audio track and saved it so I can't go into the project and check because it's corrected now. Hopefully I'll remember that possibility next time I encounter it. Thanks. ?

I'm wondering how this could happen. The other day I opened a track that I made audio from a soft synth MIDI track. The converted audio track sounded the same as the MIDI track and was converted stereo, which was as I wanted. When I finished the mix I took notice that something didn't sound right. I soloed the converted track ( which was from a string sample library) and found that something on the audio channel that I opened the track in made the track mono. This was without adding any effect plugins or eqing of any kind. All I did was add a volume automation envelope. To correct the problem I inserted a new audio track and carefully re created the volume automation and it sounded fine. This happened again a short time later on another track. I know the audio track is stereo because I verified it in Audacity. It was something on the audio channel in CbB that "monoized" it. Any thoughts as to what might have happened? Thanks! ?John B.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and that Santa brought you all the musical toys you wanted. I'm taking a break from my diet and indulging myself with all the goodies and sweets that come with this season. I just hope I don't wind up in a diabetic coma.?? I've been reworking on a project I created 3 years ago for my Mom who I lost in late 2015. I really didn't want to remix it per se but I wanted to convert the project from a hybrid (audio & MIDI tracks combined) to all audio WAVs. I took up the practice of doing this on all projects but hadn't adopted it yet in early 2016 when I created this, so it did turn out to be a small remix but is still very close to the original. I call this piece "Lighthouse" because that's how I remember my Mom. She always had my back no matter what kind of mess I found myself in and she never failed to bring me peace whenever my nerves were frazzled about something. I may have posted this when it was new in early 2016 but I don't remember, so I'll present this as my first offering to the new forum. My apologies for the instruments not sounding "real". Welcome, Bob. I might take you up on the offer of basic MIDI sequencing tips. I have virtual string and horn software and many times in reviews I get the "those horns (or strings) sound fake". I take this as quite discouraging as I put so much time into the arrangement and all they comment on is the "fake sound". Granted, my software programs aren't the most sophisticated (Garritan JABB 3 for the horns and Native Session Strings Pro for the strings) so I really need tips on how to make them more realistic, if you can sometime. I'm also a real sax player (and clarinet) but at my advanced age or 63 and with asthma it getting harder to blow the horns. Anyway, I don't want to make this all about me but I'm glad you joined not only to make a new friend but looking forward to any help you can give on your rather impressive list of expertise. I'll help you with anything I can but most of these other guys have more experience with at least this version (used to be Sonar PLATINUM) so they'll probably get to you first. John B, ?

I'm not a Mac user, but I remember seeing somewhere (before the Gibson fail) that there would be a Mac version available. It was also around the same time as the "new deals" (ie pay per month, lifetime upgrades (yeah right)). But I guess all of that didn't materialize either. That's another thing that gives me a bit of hope that maybe this company (Bandlab) will deliver on it promises better than the old company. I sincerely hope that soon our Mac user brothers and sisters will be able to access the benefits of this incredible DAW. ?John B.

First of all, kudos on a great job with the new website/forum. It took me a bit to get to how you insert a picture on the avatar, but I finally figured it out. Second-I saw in Meng's announcement/introduction to the forum that Bandlab will have a booth at the upcoming NAMM show. Does this mean that some new products pertaining to Cakewalk (ie, new DAW's, plugins, hardware etc.) are on the horizon? ?John B.
