  1. I think Studiorack would be an easier way to do a signal processing chain in any host. I love Unify as an instrument host, but I would never consider using it as just an FX chain. And as Doug pointed out, the frequency splits...
  2. Just saying that if you would share what type of music you are into making, we could gently steer you towards things that may be of interest! Deals get posted here that may appeal to some, and be hated by others. But a deals still a deal, even though it may not appeal to everyone.
  3. Then apparently you don't really understand synths yet, grasshopper... ? This is a great pad machine, perfect for ambient soundscapes or soundtracks. Pair it with Biotek 2 for $24 and you will be unstoppable! But if you are looking for modern VA or wavetable tools, best to look elsewhere. It's only a waste if you have no use for this type of synthesis.
  4. Installed!!! I previously had the old Waves only version, but never really used it. This VST3 free-for-all opens up a lot of new doors. For example right now I have the new Studiorack running plugins from Waves, plus VST3 such as IK Mixbox, IK T-RackS modules, Eventide, and Cherry. This thing is a no-brainer!!! The CPU use of Studiorack with these 5 plugins inserted is at about 5% here. Tossed it onto an Arturia B3 V track which uses about 5% itself. Not bad! Waves CLA EchoSphere IK Mixbox with 4 modules: distortion, reverb, delay, saturation IK T-RackS Leslie Eventide Blackhole Cherry Audio Stardust 201 Definitely a space organ, LOL!!! ?
  5. I have had issues on Windows 10 with Bitdefender, Avira, and Avast. Windows Defender just quietly does it's thing and my PC runs smoothly. I do run Malwarebytes Free scan weekly, and so far it has never found anything! It's always good to get a 2nd opinion!
  6. It's a holiday here in the US. The mods probably took a day off to be with family... -ibtl
  7. I have Biotek 2. It can make some great sounds! Suggestion: In the preset browser select "Richard Devine" for author. He contributed something like 100 new factory presets for v2. I've got about 25 of those marked as "favorites". With your browser filter engaged, you can scroll through the selected preset list by using the arrows for "Next/Previous" by the preset name at the top. If you select the instrument tab in the instrument controls you will see the preset tags & descriptions as you scroll through with the arrows. Usually there is a description of what the x/y pad controls.
  8. That right there is the best malware protection! ? And there are some good free solutions out there! No excuse not to be doing that for your valuable DAW! I'm not sure that I would ever trust a machine that actually got infected to be "clean" after removing the malware. I would just rather nuke and restore the entire system drive from a backup image made prior to the infection.
  9. Microsoft Defender in its Win10 & Win11 incarnations is the most compatible real-time AV that you can run on your PC. It also allows you to set exclusions for files, folders, or processes that you do not wish to be scanned. I have all of my audio stuff excluded. Defender now scores competitively in "Real World Protection" comparison tests with paid AV products. It scored 99% in the most recent test, and actually tied for top place with zero false positives! https://www.av-comparatives.org/tests/real-world-protection-test-february-may-2022/ https://www.av-comparatives.org/real-world-protection-test-methodology/ The old Microsoft Security Essentials for WinXP & Win7 were bottom of the barrel on detection, false positives, and performance. So bad, it was almost a joke! 3rd party AV used to be mandatory, but no longer. Just don't click willy-nilly on everything you see, download unknown files, or open unsolicited attachments and you will be fine.
  10. I just noticed that this thread has the "HOT" flag on it now. ? -ibtl
  11. The Coffee House rules: "Discussion of music related subjects. Off-topic posts will be deleted without warning. No politics. No religion. No obscenity. All love. Enjoy!" -ibtl
  12. I don't know if anyone remembers, but the "Deals" forum wasn't always a Coffee House sub-forum. The mods moved it there at some point after some bad behavior had occurred, rather than shut it down. Don't recall the details, but the Coffee House is technically the "off-topic"section here. And Larry always proudly stated that he never "goes upstairs". ibtl
  13. I generally avoid Facebook groups with only a few exceptions. The ones dedicated to hometown history can be interesting and generally harmless. I really hate when a vendor chooses to use Facebook groups as their primary customer communications channel. They lose!
  14. This is one time that I'm thankful to be using Firefox as my default browser. Haven't opened anything Chrome based today!
  15. Go back and look at the picture of the crash log. His issue is clearly with the VST2. And please don't reply to me any further. I'm done here.
  16. True statement. I guess you didn't read the OP word-for-word yourself, because you missed that he is using the VST2.
  17. When you say negative stuff about a vendor here on the forum, you really should back it up with facts! Otherwise it just comes across as sour grapes and venting.
  18. I'm not the one with the problem, was just trying to help the OP. You apparently meant well, but seem to be a bit off-track. Good luck!
  19. From the iZotope Iris 2 Reference Manual, page 19: "There are multiple ways to import your own WAV or AIF samples into Iris 2, but you can also build folders in your designated sample library location to customize the sample organization to fit with your workflow."
  20. I have no idea what you are going on about. I read everything. Please stop being condescending by implying that I have not read the posts.
  21. That's a lot of synth for $10. I bought it years ago when it pushed my CPU over the limit. But on modern hardware it plays well. Great if you are into sound design and like to work with samples. You get 4 sample layers/slots to work with and you can import your own. Just the 11GB of factory samples alone is worth $10!
  22. @Will.From the OP ^^^ And the Cakewalk crash report clearly shows the failed plugin as "M1.dll", not "M1.vst3. ? I think any confusion may have come about when the OP referenced the release of M1 that added the VST3, not that he was actually using that format. I assume that update is when his VST2 messed up as they overwrote his existing VST2 "M1.dll" with the newer version. Version 2.3.0 [PC/Mac] VST3 format support
