  1. That is so retro, LOL!!! Just like my 80's Casio CZ-1000 keyboard (although that unit is capable of receiving MIDI velocity via MIDI port).
  2. You would understand if you had encountered a MIDI file type 0, with all of the channels in one track. The CAL script would have split out (un-merged) the channel data to separate MIDI tracks so you could carry on with what you wanted to do. For more info on this, read up on MIDI file types. Here is a quick overview: https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/what-difference-between-midi-type-0-midi-type-1/ Confusing? Yes. Glad you got it working!
  3. Maybe using one of the "vintage" vinyl effects or something like that would do the trick.
  4. Everything in a Cakewalk MIDI track gets routed to a single MIDI channel. The piano roll view lets you edit and distinguish between tracks. I think that if you intend to use one track per instrument, you will need to insert the keyswitch notes at the desired time. Or else use multiple tracks, one for each articulation.
  5. Your old Cakewalk account should still be in working order. Serial numbers, activation codes, downloads, etc. And the Cakewalk Command Center should have it also, if you ever used that.
  6. I tried the Union demo and the CPU usage with the factory presets with one instance ran between 15-50% on my system. Never quite to the breaking up point, but I could see where this might be a problem with several other tracks and instruments. I like the UI and overall experience with the synth.
  7. Agree, that this looks like a good one! I really don't need yet another synth ... but all this for $8 is just crazy! SHAZAM!!!
  8. Some cool soundz in there, thanks!
  9. I just had another thought about Acid Pro 9... Maybe just buy it for the loop library, and use Cakewalk to arrange the loops?
  10. CbB is a great DAW! I would gladly direct anyone that feels that CbB is missing anything to an extensive list of available free, or very low cost plugins.
  11. I really don't have the HDD room for this install now, but for $20 it wouldn't hurt to have it available for playing around with at some point! I have an old 32-bit version that has been around for years, and I haven't opened it recently. But for quickly setting up some rhythmic patterns to jam around with, this could be handy!
  12. Exactly what is needed here to reproduce and confirm any real issues!!!
  13. Is the 8-bar blues a loop?
  14. Cool tune Kenny!!! Enjoyed the jam!
  15. Blame it on the Acid!
  16. If you are following these instructions step-by-step, you will need to alter the path names to reflect your current Cakewalk Core installation, rather than Sonar. https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013364/Setting-up-a-Drum-Map-for-Addictive-Drums-2-in-SONAR In other words you will need to replace: Step 2: "C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X3 Producer\Project Templates", with the actual location of your content folders in "Cakewalk Core". Step 3: "C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X3 Producer\Track Templates\Soft Synth Track Templates", with the actual location of your content folders in "Cakewalk Core". Step 4: The same goes for the %appdata% "Roaming" folder. You need to select "Cakewalk Core" rather than Sonar. Maybe there is a CbB translation for this process somewhere already, but I have not seen it. Hope this helps!
  17. This would probably be a good FX bundle for newcomers to CbB, to provide some missing essentials in the FX dept., especially for this price! Flashback: The Nomad Factory Blue Tubes series was one of the 3rd party plugin bundles that Sonar included in X3 and Platinum. This Analog Studio channel strip is a more recently released product, that is lacking certain effects processors that the original Blue Tubes bundle came with. The 7 modules can be inserted as an integrated rack, or individually as plugins. Here is a review from SoundBytes mag: https://soundbytesmag.net/analogstudiofromnomadfactory/ The modules that comprise this package, and their real-life inspirations are as follows: Pre-amp – unspecified origin Gate/Expander – SSL console channel strip component Compressor/Limiter – SSL console channel strip component State EQ – SSL console channel strip component Bus Compressor – SSL console bus compressor (as opposed to channel strip) Exciter – unknown unit from BBE Sound (more later) Pulse EQ – Pulteq EQP-1A Alternatively, the Nomad Factory Blue Tubes Bundle is available for $99. https://www.jrrshop.com/nomad-factory-blue-tubes-bundle This Blue Tubes bundle includes a number of classic Nomad Blue Tubes FX processors, such as reverb, delay echo, chorus, phaser, etc.
  18. I think I would rather have Project 5 v9
  19. Look under your forum profile > account settings > display name. It should tell you how many times your display name has been changed. If it has been changed, but not by you, that would definitely be something for support's attention!
  20. This Waves update stuff gives me a big headache! Just updated Waves Central to v11, and I can see that all of my Waves plugins are at v10. In my online account I can see that some of the plugins I bought last year are still eligible for update, but I think I will just leave everything at v10.
  21. The Kontakt 6 plugin is only identified as "Kontakt".
  22. Yes, the AD2 files are installed on your computer. To verify this, just open up XLN Online Installer, and click the "Advanced" button. This will show the installation paths currently in use, which you can change if desired. You only need to be connected to the internet to activate or update your AD2 software. If XLN detects a major Windows or hardware update that changes the computer ID (fingerprint) that your software account is linked to, your activation may be removed, requiring you to go online to reactivate. That is weird that your XLN account lost your product registrations that were associated with your email. Only XLN could explain that one. I doubt that your AD2 files were actually removed from your computer, rather that they apparently became "lost" when they were somehow unlinked from your online account, which is tied to the XLN Online Installer. That was certainly unexpected!
  23. Yep, it's always a good idea to update your account info for all products that you have ever registered online when you get a new email address. That's the key to your e-stuff.
