  2. You can do this with the step recording method. Any MIDI input device, including the virtual keyboard, can generate one step at a time on the MIDI track and piano roll. Each note that you play gets recorded, and then it pauses and waits for your next note. The step record dialog allows you to choose the step size by note length. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Recording.26.html
  3. Now all we need is a Black Friday sale for Dune 3! Been waiting for this ... "We have updated DUNE 3 to version 3.5. This update adds a new patch browser"
  4. Sitala loads fine here in Add Track with "Instrument Track Per Output" checked in Advanced. Running the latest CbB 2021.11, Build 018. All 16 track outputs show up, one for each pad in the kit.
  5. It should be working. I guess it just doesn't like you! ?
  6. What instrument are you trying to add? Some only have one L/R output.
  7. Sorry. Well then, support@soundpaint.com is probably the only way to fix it. Good luck!
  8. I was just suggesting that the installer has a mind of its own at times, and may have dropped the folder into either "My Documents" on the C drive, or elsewhere, regardless of what you instructed it to do. That way my experience, FWIW. And once that happens, there are 2 problems. First, the installer won't try again, as it thinks its job is done. And second, the SoundPaint scanner cannot find a folder that is not defined yet. even though it may be somewhere on your PC. The support email is (and they seem quite responsive): support@soundpaint.com
  9. Check your "My Documents" folder. The 1928 Piano originally landed there for me, and until I deleted it, I was unable to re-download to my target folder. The downloader seemed to think it was already installed, but SoundPaint wasn't looking in My Documents when I did a scan. Just another thing to check... good luck!
  10. It depends on if you want to use Lesley exclusively within the AmpliTube ecosystem, or as an outboard plugin effect that you can use anywhere. I believe that they are basically the same, except the AmpliTube cabinet version is represented as a mono input to the AmpliTube mixer.
  11. Then go to that folder in Windows Explorer and see if a new folder got added there. If not (probably not, or the scan would have seen it) you will have to search for it, find it, and move it there. My Free Angels folder got added into the 1928 Piano folder, regardless of the path I selected in the installer.
  12. Not really. Even though SoundPaint plays samples, it's not a pure sample playback engine. As such, it's not intended to replace the 8Dio sample libraries for the Kontakt platform. It's an engine that lets you layer, morph, and mangle up to 4 sampled parts.
  13. What were your results from LatencyMon?
  14. If they would just add the X-pedal emulations as T-RackS modules, then wish granted! You can run the T-RackS processors as individual plugins...

    Stargate DAW

This would probably be really useful to someone with a really old computer. It even runs on a Raspberry Pi.

    Stargate DAW

Saw this discussion about Stargate over on KVR in the Hosts forum. https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=572887 No VST support. The dev has implemented a setup with an approach similar to that used by Reason in the old days, pre-RE, and pre-VST. The dev isn't trying to implement yet another VST host, and competing with the big boys. Rather its intended use is as a light, fast, cross platform DAW where the projects are self contained. And it's open source, GPL3. https://stargateaudio.github.io/ Downloads: https://github.com/stargateaudio/stargate/releases/tag/release-21.11.2
  17. The answer to that would be yes, if Win 11 lowered the performance of your PC. Imagine if maybe you were running close to the limit before and everything was fine. Then after the upgrade your performance might have slipped a few percent? Anyway it only takes a few seconds to resize your buffers to find out. See the post above by Teegarden. He mentions that if Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) gets turned on, it has been known to tank gaming performance by 25%. Not sure how that would apply to audio, but it might not be good. I am reluctant to enable VBS on my DAW, even though it is an apparent security enhancement. https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-11-has-advanced-hardware-security-heres-how-to-get-it-in-windows-10-today/
  18. Right, it doesn't make sense, but I seem to recall having to drop a few serial numbers into the IK Authorization Manager. Don't recall exactly which ones, as it's been a while...
  19. TLDR: The following new features are in the Windows version: New Skins: All SynthMaster 2 iOS skins are now working inside SynthMaster 2. That adds 4 new skins to SynthMaster 2. SynthMaster Player's skins are updated as well, they're now in line with SynthMaster. Keyboard and Velocity Zones: Each layer in SynthMaster 2 has now its own keyboard and velocity zones, letting the users to play different layers on different keyboard/velocity ranges. Pitch Quantization using Scales: The pitches of Oscillators or Modulators can now be quantized using a user selected scale. This lets the pitch to stay in tune within that specific scale. Larger Popup Windows for Arps, Sequencers and Multisegmented Envelopes: Due to the small areas allocated for Arps, Sequencers or Multisegmented Envelopes, editing those modules were challenging at times. With the introduction of popup windows, users can now press the zoom button to bring up the larger edit window(s) which take up the entire plugin window.
  20. Great suggestion! I will put that on my wish list!
  21. Did you try increasing your audio buffers? You could also run LatencyMon and see if it reports that your PC is suitable for real-time audio. Even if it passes that test, your audio buffers may be set too low.
  22. I went with Studio One Pro after I realized that the Cubase Pro demo required buying a hardware authorization dongle first! Although you can run Cubase Elements with the e-license. I liked Elements, but ...
  23. There are many folks asking "what is SoundPaint all about?", and I think that you have probably nailed it with that simple statement! Layering is probably the most effective technique to achieve new sounds and textures in sound design. Doing it in a synth rack, starting with MIDI hardware, and then with instrument tracks within a DAW has always been something that I really enjoy. But anytime one is able to do it within a single interface in a virtual instrument, it's a time saver for sure! So far I only have the Steinway and the guitar in SoundPaint, and mixing them together has been quite interesting! I already have enough other synth and sample libraries to keep me busy for the next 100 years, but I am intrigued by the possibilities for sound design within this product. I am open to getting a SoundPaint library that's something like Bioscape from Luftrum, to layer with a few conventional instruments. https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/luftrum-bioscape
  24. That's possible, and surely there will be some difference, as they are sampled from two different Rhodes models. From the SoundPaint description, they sampled an 88-key Rhodes Mark I from 1976. According to the history of the "Famous E", it is a Rhodes Mark II 73-key Suitcase, 71 vintage, the electric piano that Harold Rhodes proclaimed "the best Rhodes I have ever heard". https://www.emodelrhodes.com/history
