  1. Actually true, but you have a limit of 10 activations:
  2. My guess is that VST3 plugins that are "flaky" in Cakewalk were probably never tested and refined in Cakewalk by their developers... According to statements by developers that I've read, the VST3 "standard" is under-documented, so that leaves a bit of leeway in interpretation. Unless the plugin was actually tested and supported by them in Cakewalk, it can be hit or miss for the user by chance.
  3. PreSonus plug-ins are fine if you use them native in Studio One! No shell required there, LOL! I dislike the VST shell approach also.
  4. And don't forget to check out the free Emergence plug-in that VT used in his video. https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/45-Granular-FX/8397-Emergence "This plugin is a real-time granulator. It continuously records the input signal into a buffer. The content of the buffer is played back as many short pieces of sound called grains. Up to 600 grains can be generated in 4 streams, each having its own set of parameters that control grain generation. A single grain is not that interesting. The most exciting things happen when hundreds of overlapping grains play together, creating anything from complex delay patterns to strange noises to beautifully layered soundscapes."
  5. Well, Venus Theory is a fan, so that says something. He created his own library for Decent Sampler. Pianobook was started by Christian Henson of Spitfire Audio. Due to the amount of material available, probably have to do a bit of digging to find personal connections...
  6. If moving to new PC hardware and doing a clean install of Windows, it would be the same as moving all of your licenses to a new computer. The same precautions should apply...
  7. It's an automatic process to update your packs directly from the synth. Left-click on the preset name in the box on the top bar and you will get a context menu. Just click on "Restore my preset banks" and any banks in your account that are not installed will be downloaded and installed.
  8. But patiently waiting for SynthMaster 3... Which is a free upgrade for Everything Bundle owners!
  9. That will be a good opportunity to decide how much dead weight you are carrying, and lighten the load to stuff you actually use today!
  10. Sad here... ? Already have everything KV331 except for the iOS stuff. And don't own any iOS thingys either...
  11. I would at least vote for the Famous E, if you don't already have that one. It's a must have!
  12. Get some rubbing alcohol and some wipes. Good times! ?
  13. Still waiting for that $99 upgrade...
  14. Make a clone of your existing system drive, just in case you change your mind in a few months... ?
  15. Special price for Wavestate vst $149. Yikes, I got the entire Collection 3 for that!
  16. I held off on the first collection, as I did not care for the small UI in the M1 Le at the time. Figured I'd wait for them to get the UI situation sorted. But they finally lured me in with the Collection 3 at the $149 upgrade from M1 Le price point! So as a late adopter, I'm not too familiar with the past collections or download options. I once had a Korg X2 workstation in the mid-90's, before I had Cakewalk. But I had always wanted a real M1 or a Wavestation. That Wavestation is still a unique animal! Overall, Collection 3 really rocks! Not a dud in the bunch! No regrets!
  17. Aha! Maybe you do not have Collection 3 yet? I would understand if you need to upgrade to get the new instruments, But I would think KORG support should hook you up with the latest updates for products you own. Unless KORG are planning to act like Waves with their WUP plan, LOL! ?
  18. It's good to see CbB getting some support respect from Waves!
  19. I always use the KORG Software Pass as well. But occasionally it reports that an update is available, even when you might already have the latest synth versions installed. KORG usually fixes that discrepancy eventually, and it tends to occur after new versions are rolled out. The direct website account will give you access to the latest synth downloads, and that's less confusing for some folks if there are any doubts. The Software Pass is usually the best way to go, but it's nice to know that there is also a direct link workaround.
  20. Sign in at https://id.korg.com/ All of the latest downloads in your account are available there for Mac & PC.
  21. Those modular power supplies are a game changer for the home builder! I used an EVGA for my latest build.
  22. At least it doesn't have the *cough* Gibson brand name on it...
  23. Yep, I've been burned by Newegg's return policy before. ? I only buy from them now if it's an insanely good deal, or a last resort. First choice is always Amazon now, if they have the product I want. Always free shipping and a liberal return policy just in case... Another quality company that I occasionally buy from is B&H. They have always done me right!
  24. I have also tried the KORG VST3 plug-ins in question here in three JUCE-based hosts: Tracktion Waveform 11, Kushview Element, and PluginGuru Unify. It worked in Waveform. But failed (did not retain saved plugin state) in: Element Unify. So it seems that the VST3 may just not have been tested in Cakewalk. FYI, for what it's worth, the developer of Unify (Shane Dunne, a PhD Computer Science consultant with patents to his name) goes to great lengths to avoid using VST3 plug-ins wherever possible in Unify, and recommends using VST2 for now in their product. Unify is both a host and a plug-in.
