My guess on the model numbering is that the Mark VI took a long time in development,
Upon further reading this seems to be the case. At least that's what they (Boogie) is claiming.
I love my Boogie amps, all of them. And all the pedals I have from them too. Before Gibson bought them out, they were some of the best imho. Well worth every penny I spent for them.
But almost $4k for a combo amp? Come on! I wouldn't care who designed it and who's name was associated with it, I ain't buying for that kinda money!!
I am a big Dream Theater fan, love John's sound and his playing. And I almost bought one of those "Signature" Mk V's they put out. But it was priced not out of my reach, but a lot more than what I was willing/wanting to pay for it. This new Boogie is going for almost twice what the JP "Signature" MK V was going for!!! :0 Ouch!!
I wish them well, but this first offering ain't looking too good to me. But maybe I ain't the crowd they want.

I received an email from Guitar Center about a new Boogie amp. Get this:
"MESA/Boogie skips the Mark VI amplifier to go straight to the Mark VII"
And here is the real kicker:
"Mesa Boogie Mark VII 1x12 90W Tube Guitar Combo
$3,799.00"
Wow!! Gibson really putting it's "Mark" on that brand!! Unbelievable really.

RIP ole boy. His playing and songwriting influenced me more than I ever thought.
A lot of my music I write today is a direct influence of his style of rhythm and lead playing.

Nice listen. As others have said nice clean guitar tone. Harmonica came a pleasant surprise! Was not expecting that.
All in all we'll done. We'll written too.
Was that real drums?

Just listened to it at few times on my Bluetooth speaker here at work.
Good vocal performance. Opening synth lines are really interesting. Very nice.
Opening guitar riff sets a good feel for the song.
Lead sounds good. Tone is excellent on this speaker. The the synth lead sounds good too. The next guitar lead, is that a different player? Sounds good. Just very different.
Will listen more when I get to some better speakers.
Love the synth ending.

It's not me, it's a young guy from England, Joshua. He did a great job I think. Gave the track lots of emotion.

bunch of geezers putting them down and telling them they have no feel, but, having grown up in the 80's with Malmsteen and all those guys, that's nothing new
Agreed. I never got into Malmstren, but I had to give him props. Phenomenal guitar player.
I first saw Polyphia in the video that someone posted not long ago with Steve Via. When I started watching the video I had no idea Via was in it. I just kept watching it because I was impressed and in awe of thier playing. They are taking the two guitar harmony thing up a few levels. A good many levels!!
10 hours ago, Rain said:I'm embarassed to say that I've been playing guitar for almost 40 years.
I felt that way after seeing Vai in concert. Then I watch Polyphia and wonder why I even bother.
But I got something inside that just can't get out any other way, other than me pick that guitar up and play it.
Back to the OP, that is an impressive video. Dynamic and clean.

I have a way to get it out in seconds. Developed the technique when I first learned to play many many years ago.
