Head in a Basket - Constructive mix feedback welcome!
Grem replied to Myriad Rocker's topic in Songs
So Myriad, the first example called Mix 2, is that the one form last week, or before that? Or is this a new mix too? I'm back at work so I only have the work speakers and my headphones. Anyway, the second mix is clearer than that first example. I can hear the bass player in this mix! All levels of the guitar are even in relation to each other. If I were to make a suggestion, I would lower the guitars one or two db at the most. But that's only nit picking. (I like to hear the drums strong.) On the work speakers the guitars were more dominate than the drums, but listening on my hp the difference wasn't as much as on the work speakers. Still I think you are getting better at mixing. Waiting on the next post!! -
Yeah they still going down. But not as fast or as much. They in HD territory now!! It's game on!!

`Ya'll need to get a room!!

Maybe this is competing with Toontrack's Superior Drummer? Maybe that's why it's so high in asking price?
-
@Eyal Amir Just noticed that your avatar looks a lot like the guy in the video!! : ) LOL You did that one yourself? I can see that the need for what I am talking about is small. It can be worked around. I just thought maybe I was overlooking it. I am not a keyboard player, and my bass playing isn't that good either. But I have found that I can take simple bass lines, convert to midi, and send that to Bass Fingers and get some really good results. Better than I am capable of!!

I don't know if you made any adjustments to the song, but I think it's alright. Like Wookiee says, it has a raw feel about it that I like. Nice solo too. On my first listen, I wasn't getting it. Not really understanding the title. The more I listened I was drawn in by the vocals. Which on the second and third listen I grew to really like it. Lyrics are really good. I like the subject and the views expressed in them. There is a soul on the other side of that image!! Really good job.

I got the Townhouse on sale, but it wasn't at this price. : ( Very good plugin though. I don't regret it.

I think the UI for these two plugins are really stand out. Easy to use and understand. Good work. I also really like the ability to ease back on the velocity and just get a more mellow sound with both Bass Slapper and Fingers. Really good work there. One thing I noticed about Bass Fingers, if I could ask a question; say I am on the A string, third fret (C note) and I want to slide down to the open A string (A note), how would you do that on this plugin? I know of the sliding key switches, but when I use that method, the slide starts way above the C note I am playing. Any idea?
-
@balinas I agree 100%. Their sound packs really do sound good.
-
That Townhouse is really nice. For that money it's a no-brainer. The SPL EQ is also a very good deal. It's the 21Jun and no voucher yet.

I have been resisting the GAS all week. Well today I let it out!! I got 7 new sound packs. Already had four of them. And I already have all the instruments. (They all work really well in BiaB!) The whole process was very straightforward and easy! Paid, redeem code, that brought me to AAS site, enter my info, done deal!! Forgot to thank Fleer!! Thank you Sir!!

Get this, if you have enough Jam points, you can get $59 off of the crossgrade price of Modo Drums!! So what's better? The $50 off they add automatically to your order? Or using Jam Points? I just leave that there!! [edit] Just got to SMH!
-
Really. That would be .... come on!! Have you sent in a Sales support request? [edit] Yeah I went to order and there was the automatic $50 Promo already attached. And at the top of the screen it told me "Thank you for shopping with us! You have xx Jam Points! But no place to add the Jam Points. : (

That made me laugh Mesh!! Still smiling!!

I'll be the first to admit that 14gb for a sample library is really getting up there. And for $29? How good could it be? I went for it and am glad I did. It's not bad at all and I can see some use coming out of this one. But for my tastes I dialed the velocity down to 4-5. to me it wasn't as aggressive. But if you want that, it's there to use. And WUP ain't that bad. You want it? Get it. You don't want it? No problem. Your plugins still work till the cows come home.
-
That's not expected behavior. You should see trk headers when you duplicate trks. I was going to ask you to save, and restart CbB and see if that fixes your issue. Glad you got them back. Makes it very difficult to work without trk headers!!
-
I thinking that you have another 'Take Lane' on that trk that is not muted, and promoted.

Changing Order of Busses in Console View

I never knew either! I always went to the TV to change them!! Now I just need to remember the keys!! -
I checked at everyplugin.com and all I have is Grand Rhapsody and it would be a little too much for what I would get. As I see it I would get 7 new plugins, with only 5 of them I really would want. I have 3 of them already in Mercury. And if goes like Matt suggests would it be worth it? It still would only be $20 a plugin....
-
But I thought Mercury included *all* plugins, including instruments?
-
Me not happy : (

Sweet!! I wonder if we gonna get it Larry?

Freddy, I can relate about getting up out the chair!! I was chuckling in more than a few spots. Good song, well done and the playing is spot on. In fact the guitar tone for the solo reminded me of the the theme song from HBO Boardwalk. And I love that tone!!
