With AT5 SE you won't get all the new gear. You will be limited in what you get as far as new 'gear'. You will have the same technology in AT5 SE as you do in AT5. So the decision becomes do you want all the new gear or just some of it.

The way I understand it, and ALL IK users must keep this in mind: Like Matt pointed out, IK doesn't do upgrades. So if you buy any software from them today, you will never be able to upgrade it. You will be given the option to buy another version at a discount intro price. And that statement is based on past IK history and subject to change at any moment. : ) Now, to me that doesn't make sense to keep long time customers happy. But what the hey, I keep buying!! So they must know something!! There is only one product from IK that I paid full price for. One. Everything else was a intro price or BOGx free.

@chris.r with the features baked into the gui, hell the CS version may be quite the catch!! I remember guys getting ST4 CS and saying that's all they needed!!

I was just getting to Time & Space! I looked for the TT sale at a lot of other plugin discounters and these are the only ones that have it so far.

They have it up at BestService for $47. I looked at everyplugin and Audio Deluxe, but neither had ToonTrack products.

Thanks Larry. I wanted, but forgot about Bob Rocks EXD. I wanted it when it came out but for some reason I can't remember, didn't get it then. I forgot about after that. You posting this reminded me of it.

You're probably correct on this part I over looked, the GUI!! The more I thought of it, it also may contain some of the VIR technology as well. But very limited I would think. They may go all out and give a really great feature set in AT5 CS like they did with ST4 CS.

I just don't understand all the confusion. It has been said very clearly that AT5 SE will allow use of previously owned AT collections. And it will be "updated/converted/" to the new and improved AT5 version. They won't give that away I think. So I wouldn't hold out hope AT5 CS is gonna give you anything new. It will probably allow you to demo the new stuff. If you need more info, go to the IK website and put in a support ticket for Sales.

@abacab I have ST4 and SOC, give me a few days and I will try to repro it and see if I can get it to crash. I have had issues with freezing. Will see what I come up with.

Yes. The only alternative is like you say, is to include NEW WAV files for all existing cabs. And that may not be out of the realm of possibilities.

I am not a programmer Larry, but I think the easiest way to do it would be to include all the new and updated IR in with the VIR technology, not an actual IR file, but calculations in the VIR tech. When it's told to load a certain file, it will apply the calculations already in the code to that file and out comes the "New and Improved" IR. Don't hold me to it now, but I think that's how they are doing it.
