  1. And would this be the one?
  2. Just a little bit of info here: I found out that I could d/l the install file with IKPM, then transfer that to a USB stick, load it on another pc, update it on new PC (with AT% already installed), and IKPM will now see that it has been updated! Nice! : )
  3. I think then, that you would be surprised at how many musicians, that do this for a living, have all they need in thier phone.
  4. Looking at your situation, it looks like your right about that being the only way. Bypass amps and cabs. Unless you take the stereo signal and put left and right on a trk each, then mono input in AT5 will let you have a DI. Drop your fx the way you in the mixer slots, while bypassing the amps and cabs. You could also save that configuration as a preset in AT5.
  5. Zo, haven't tried but will it let you remove the amp and cabs? @Mesh Read what I had to say about it Mesh. And now with the update, it's gotten a lot of those major bugs out the way!! I played it for about an hour so far tonight and I didn't see one bug that I was normally getting when it was first released. Yes, it worth it. Yes it's a great upgrade. Get it while the intro price is still good. They may not drop the price for a while.
  6. Nothing like pushing air from a amp driven speaker. But the feel/response is getting close. I have tried Universal Audio's Apollo interface that really helps with the amp input, getting that feel. I was really surprised last night that AT5 is a real close second to the UA stuff. And I was just using a cheap Behringer UM2 into my Surface last night running AT5 standalone.
  7. Black Box and the Opticom are great plugins.
  8. Played with AT5 last night. And I mean I just played. It was just sheer enjoyment. I wasn't switching back and forth between AT4 and AT5, I just started with AT5 and stuck with it. Wasn't really a hard choice either! : ) For some reason last night I was able to get it to record my practice drone I play and then was able to play over that. Several nights ago it wouldn't do that. And it just sounded so good. I mean I must have played that drone for 20 - 30 minutes. All clean tones (well chorus clean!! That Dimebag Doubler is da shizzzt!) I played different variations on the stuff I usually play, just coming up with different phrases. And it was towards the end when I realized that I had been playing so long because I was enjoying myself. I also think that IK must have done something with the input, because it was just responding so pleasingly. That was a major part of my enjoyment, the response I was getting. Just a great feel from an amp sim. (wonder how this is responding with the AXE?) I could go on about the VR Tech, but let me just say this. I have always played with open cabs. And I was never ever able to get that "openess" of a real cab until now. They nailed it on the open back cabs! I played for at least two and a half hours. Mostly playing stuff and just enjoying myself. I was just trying the AT5 included amps. (Try the Purple Floyd preset, turn off the delay.... love that sound!!) Well I am just gonna say it, they knock this one out the park. Even with all the BS bugs that I am still experiencing, this is gonna be my go-to amp sim. I was in the camp of "They shouldn't have released it yet". But now I don't care that it has bugs, I am going to use it anyway!! Great job IK.
  9. Not quite.... but you are making progress!!! : )
  10. Grabbed Wraith and the Frostpoint IR's. Good prices. Thans Reid. I listened to that one and was going to get it but they don't have a version for their Mirage synth yet. And I don't have Kontak.
  11. I'm trying to learn from @mibby !!
  12. Thanks Matt. Did not know about this. This will help a lot!!
  13. It will take much time grasshopper!!
  14. I was going to get it, but sat for a minute wondering how I would browse through them. The only sample browser I have is the one in Cakewalk. Unless I have something I am not seeing.
  15. Also got the Twisted pack and the Retro Funk pack. Both are really excellent for much more than the name suggests.
  16. Contact their sales support. They will see what's going on. Are you trying to buy through Custom Shop? Or on IK webstore?
  17. Been looking at the Southern Rock since it came out. Jumped on this!!
  18. I also went and grabbed the Music Box Suite after demo'ing the free version. Really like their stuff.
  19. Grabbed Phoenix: Mirage, the string and choir synth. Thanks Larry. [edit] Corrected my purchase. I am liking this synth. I like the way it's laid out. Very simple and very easy to use. Has some great sounds right off the bat!
  20. This is a good EQ. Love the way it sounds. Works on everything I ever put it on!
  21. Some, yes. I am having different results with the VST version over the stand alone app. Both have bugs. Example, on my Surface Pro I am experiencing ASIO troubles with the stand alone. I can get it to work (like Larry mentioned in one post) but I got to fiddle with the inputs!? Weird. And there is no set way that I found that works. So last night at work I was trying to play AT5, then switched to AT4. Then when I would switch back after that (IOW restart AT5) I had to fiddle and fiddle with sound settings. I got tired of having to fiddle with the sound settings to get it to work and just quit messing with it. Real shame because it does sound so damn good!! With the VTS 3 on my Surface I can't even get it to work with Cakewalk. Crashes every time. Haven't tried the VST 2 version yet. I will tonight. On my main music PC it works in Cakewalk in ASIO. UAD drivers. But I am finding lots of little bugs. Like putting the Pultec clone in the rack has lot of distortion. That's ain't working right. Also the 610 comp's VU meter ain't working. And if the comp is working, I can't tell. Hardly makes a difference if the Threshold is turned all the way to the right or left. There are other things, these are off the top of my head. When I am trying AT5 out I am wanting to play, not log bugs. : )
  22. Ok I have had a few hours with AT5. Sounds damn good. Really good. A/B'd alongside AT4 and really no comparison. But I can tell you this much for sure: It's not ready to be released. I am finding bugs in the standalone program that I feel like I am part of the "Early Release" testers. Sounds really good and when they get all this stuff ironed out it will be a go-to app for sure. But as of now, I can't use it as a practice replacement for AT4 yet. It's just too buggy.
