Hi Terry,  I'm doing OK though my personal time is limited these days due to family issues.  I barely have enough time for the internet, but I'm still trying to get into my studio as often as I can.  I do try to at least  scan things at the CW site.  Eventually, things will get resolved and I'll be a participant again someday.

Thanks for your message, and I hope to rejoin the cast of thousands soon.  Happy holidays to you, and keep on writing your pop classics!

    "Lies"

I wrote the song "Lies" about someone I knew during my childhood, someone I once looked up to and admired deeply. As a young kid, he seemed like the kind of person you’d want to model yourself after—someone who seemed to know more about the world, who had a maturity and confidence I hadn't yet developed. He was nine years older than me, and in my youthful naivety, I couldn't see the real person behind the façade he projected. I idolized him, thinking he could do no wrong, and that blinded me to the truth of who he truly was. But as I grew older and gained more life experience, the truth started to unravel. I began to see things for what they really were. The person I thought was wise and trustworthy was actually someone who had manipulated my innocence and inexperience. It became clear that he wasn’t deserving of the admiration I had once so freely given. In fact, he took advantage of my trust, using my naivety for his own benefit in ways I couldn't understand at the time. This painful realization—that someone I had once respected had deceived me—became the foundation for writing this song. "Lies" explores the emotions of betrayal, disappointment, and the feeling of being let down by someone you once thought was a role model. It’s a reflection of the journey from blind admiration to the harsh understanding that not everyone who appears admirable has your best interests at heart. https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/terrycarroll/lies Cheers, Terry
  3. I was thinking along the lines of "Dedicated Follower of Fashion" as I was writing the lyric. I mean in the vein of not a love song, and something that no one would ever write about. Whoever wrote about a work a workaholic woman that gave up a normal life for a career, even though it happens all the time now days. Thank you for listening and sharing your thoughts with me! Terry
  4. Thank you Jack. Brought up on British Pop/Rock, Have a great one! Terry
  5. I wrote the song "You Don't Want to Be Her" with a workaholic in mind. From what I've observed in business, workaholics almost always find success. I also imagined what Ray Davies from The Kinks might say, as I've always admired his quirky and insightful lyrics. https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/terrycarroll/you-dont-want-to-be-her-rm1 Cheers, Terry Carroll

I like this a lot. Sounds like it was all done using a computer. Good mix Cheers, Terry
  7. Very well done! sounds very much like a movie part. There does seem to be some parts that go on without getting to the place it feels like it should. Without seeing it in a movie, it's hard to understand the tension you created Comes to a good close. Cheers, Terry
  8. My song "I Was Born to Be a Cubs Fan" should be no surprise for that know me. To get past the Cubs thing, pretend it's about your favorite team, that is if you have one. I find that a lot of musicians don't have much time left in their demanding life to follow sports. https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/cubsfan/i-was-born-to-be-a-cubs-fan-ins Cheers, Terry
  9. Thank you for your kind words. Lyrics are hard for me. I always thought lyrics would get easer as I wrote more, that didn't happen. We always want every line to be great. Right? Needless to say, I never achieve that goal, I end up settling on a line because it wears me down in parts of the song. I try to write what is true to me and hope someone will relate. Thanks again Cheers, Terry
  10. Thank you for your kind words. It helps Terry
  11. Thank you, Jack, Nice of you to say. I was beginning to think the song must really suck. Cheers, Terry
  12. "I Just Want to Understand" is a philosophical exploration of the intriguing paradox that the simplest aspects of life often carry profound complexity. The song delves into the enigmatic nature of existence, where straightforward concepts can unravel into intricate webs of meaning and interpretation. The central theme revolves around the idea that what appears simple on the surface frequently conceals deeper layers of complexity. This duality is a fundamental aspect of philosophical inquiry, where understanding a seemingly basic idea often requires grappling with intricate details and multifaceted perspectives. In the chorus, "I just want to understand," the song captures the universal human drive to make sense of the world. It reflects the frustration and curiosity that arise when we encounter situations or concepts that defy easy explanation. This pursuit of understanding is emblematic of the philosophical journey, where each answer leads to new questions and each discovery reveals further mysteries. The verses may explore various examples of this paradox, such as the simplicity of a single moment that holds a lifetime of experiences, or the straightforward nature of a concept like love that encompasses a vast range of emotions and connections. These examples highlight how the simplest things in life are often the most profound, requiring us to look beyond the obvious and delve into the deeper truths. https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/terrycarroll/i-just-want-to-understand Cheers, Terry
  13. Sounds a bit like a track that is at the end of a movie, Like a James Bond Movie. Very good production, sound like you put love into it Terry
  14. This would make a top FM play list in the late 70s. Sounds a little like "Death Cab For Cutie ", that's cool thing. I Like this
  15. Always cool to hear a Blues/Rock track with a pop side it. Nice. Would love to hear more stuff like this
  16. I believe this song was inspired by "We Are The Champions ",, but it also has a inspiration from Katy Perry's "Roar. When I first heard "Roar", it made me think of "We Are The Champions" right away. There was another song of Queens that I found impartation as well. However, as funny as it may sound, this may have been inspired by "Roar" as well. The song is really not about having an ego for Power. It's about believing in yourself. Having a vision and knowing that only the person that has the vision can make it happen and succeed , Win , or, loss, you have to Leave it in the lap of the Gods. No excuses . Cheers, Terry https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/terrycarroll/ive-got-the-power
  17. This is a good track in every way. I don't know what to say, other than I like it. 80s, and that a good thing, Say no to AI Rock on!!! Terry
  18. So good, it's like the 90s meets New wave, meets 10cc. I hear a vocal and sound from the 90s that sounds like the group Fastball. I always liked that Fastball sound, wish That Rock didn't get so messy after the 90s. We can thank corporate greed for that. Anyway, you have so a cool sound going on. Tock on! Terry Fastball
  19. e In the same I like this. I'm not one for cover songs, but I don't mind so much when someone does a cover song of Lennen and Harrison and do them as well as this cover. I thing Lennen himself would like this. Rock On. Down with AI, Terry
  20. I hear a lot of cool things here. Very New wave., with a producer of such attribute's. I love this kind of stuff. Just as a side note, there's a lot of beauty in this world. This song is part of that beauty. Rock ON1
  21. This may help https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/terrycarroll/is-it-everything-you-wanted
  22. Thank you, Lynn, for the many things you have mentioned on this song, as well as my past. Songs I have insecurities every time I post a song. It's funny how a 3-minute song could be so much work for me to complete, and still I always feel like I could have done everything about it better, Thank s again
  23. There nothing being sold at all. If you can't stream on Amazon, I'm good with that. Amazon is a screaming service that I trust more than all the others at this time, I have used all the others.
