KevinWalsh, Deering Amps and bjornpdx, thanks for listening and for your comments. KevinWalsh, I appreciate the comment on my mix. I have limited options to monitor the mix and have tried to keep them clean, not too muddled. Also, since I am trying to rehabilitate, I am working real hard on keeping my guitar fingerwork clean and crisp. It is not easy because arthritis is also starting to affect finger movement. Thanks to all again.

Thanks steve@baselines.com. I was being stupid and even right before it happened, thought I shouldn't be doing that. There is a video of the accident on my youtube channel. I can link it if you want. It is not real graphic, but just shows how fast it can happen. Thanks for the kind words and for listening.

Thanks Treesha and Bajan Blue for your kind words and support. I enjoy music, even though I am not the most creative song writer. I will continue as long as I can. Thanks for listening.

I don't think I have posted this song yet, if I have, I blame it on old age. Brief background, about 2 years ago my left hand became intimately familiar with my tablesaw. I broke all 5 fingers, two pretty severely. The doctor was able to save them, but my middle finger and thumb can only move at the joint nearest the palm. Otherwise, they are stiff. My other fingers have sections that are numb. I have played guitar, not great but got by, for most of my life and now I am unable to play most rock bar chords and have to compromise on some open string chords. Part of my rehabilitation has been trying to learn to play bass guitar. This song is a result of my early efforts. I will warn you, it is a Dirge. I try to create fast rock songs, but always end up trying to be slow and atmospheric. I appreciate the listen and any feedback. I used a soft synth for the drone notes and the sound effx, the bass is a Glarry Short Scale bass with a modified pickup. (there are two bass lines, the lead intro and a drone background). The guitar is a kit guitar I purchased from Guitar Fetish and built and is the one in the thumbnail. If you read this far, I thank you for your interest. Dave T This is a simple video.

I originally posted this song year ago or so and was never happy with my voice. I used a free pitch corrector and it didn't quite do it. I downloaded the small version of Antares Auto-tune (which is currently on sale) and revised the mix. I am much happier with it. I am not a singer so I don't feel guilty using auto tune to improve a song.

I like the song. If I was going to add something, I would add a bit more of a walking bass line. Something to accent the drumline. Otherwise nice song and I love your voice.

This is a very simple sound that I was playing with. I had a traumatic hand injury two years ago so I am in the process of trying to play guitar again. I am fiddling around trying to strengthen my hand and build up the calluses and came up with this little tune. Not too complicated, kind of spiritual. I call it my "Hand Awakening". (note on small speakers it might rattle them a bit)

PhonoBrainer, thanks for listening I appreciate the comments on my voice. I have never been happy with it so like I said, I have always just created instrumentals. I might reconsider and try a bit more vocals. I really wasn't trying for any specific era or vibe, just came up with a sound and pattern that I liked and expanded on it. Thanks again.

Thanks Kevin for listening and thanks for your comments. I never sang much, most of my songs are instrumentals. Take care.

I really like this one. You have a nice, soothing voice.

I have revised the voice mix adding a voice doubler and echo. My concern with the original, which is in the first post was my voice didn't seem to blend. I think this works better, but I may be wrong. Thanks for listening.

Thanks for listening Deering amps. Keith Wilby, the bassy is my fault, I kept rolling highs out because it stood out even worse on the mix. I did have a version of more aggresive voice, I might play with that some. I have a hard time making it fit in the mix. I feel I am pretty good mixing instruments, but have not done much with voice.

Jack, thanks for listening and your input. The pulsing bass is the free Impulse Synthesizer by Bojo Software with the Atmosphere setting. The pulsing is created by the Blue Arp Arpeggiator using the Simple 4K down 4 bars setting with a few adjustments.

I posted this song as an instrumental a while back while I tried to figure out some words and a tune. I am not a good singer, but I am putting it out there. Comments are welcome, but I know the limitations of my voice. PLEASE LISTEN TO REVISED MIX DOWN LATER ON THIS POSTING>

Jesse Screed, Bajan Blue, Freddy j and Ruralrocker 2010 and others. Thanks again for listening and for your kind words.

I hope the music helps heal. As one who has written a few of these as well, I understand. Hang in there.

Love the texture. Nice job.

Thank you for your kind comments. Music is my outlet for emotions both good and bad. Thanks for listening.

I recorded this right after my wife passed away, so it is another dirge. Some (or maybe all) will be thrown off because the rhythm is off, but that is representative of how my life felt after she left. The song represents stages of her disease, dementia, from my point of view. Discovery, doctors, mild hope, anticipation, realization, and finally that when you die, you die alone.

Thanks again for the additional responses. Now I am more encouraged to finish it. I will hopefully post a finished song soon. I really appreciate you all taking the time to listen.

Bajan Blue and Dream Art Scientists, thanks for your positive and encouraging words. I just have to clear my head and come up with a tune that works better and lyrics that fit the mood. It will happen, but it may be a while. Thanks for listening.
