Yeah, I totally get some people love them. I don't. I have AD2 too, and tested some Kontakt ones. And I agree SD3 is better, but still, I don't love it. I wanna, but I can't.

Yeah. What I mean is they don't sound, let's say, neutral, for me it's like TT stamped certain sound all over their libraries. Hihats usually are very bad, and they keep doing it the same way (read it on Vi Control if you'd like). I have 3 or 4 SDX, including Hansa Rooms, and of the life of me I don't like them at all. All their Rooms sound the same too, all their cymbals sound the same, with another name. And they sound to me also old, very old. And lifeless. Worst part is that the other existant drum libraries are worse, sad face. I' m testing BFD3 but I don't know... at least they sound to me more like a drum kit. Not trying to deter anyone from buying from them. I just don't get it. The piano sounds very meh, the snake guy youtube guy has this video where he tests a 20 bucks mike vs a 3000 bucks one, and among other things, he records a piano, now that one sounded like heaven. There is another video, forgot the name, of a very famous piano player (oriental female) where a very good USA recording guy brings a zillion mikes and achieves also a very very good sound. Here it just sounds as it if was just baked around the corner.

Sound wise, just as SD3 and EZD3, still very meh. (All their drums sound the same, even the orchestral one has the TT sound signature) I don't get why they are so successful. I guess I don't have good ears.

Got 2 $10 Lindell, Wedge something, Green and Black guitar pedals, Bassdude. If I had 10 bucks laying around I would've gotten a $30 one, lol.

I do like them too, I own some too. F Neuraldsp since I am on a roll, lol (no ARM Native support yet... after... a loooong time, and it's my fave bass plugin Dark Glass Ultra). I am finding that Cubase is just too limited or clunky compared to Reaper, I think I might go back full Reaper and use Rosetta... sigh... ? (UAD and Softube are ARM Native among lots of others, I myself don't get why some companies haven't done the transition). Even Intel wants to go ARM, or was it Win 11 that wants to go ARM (as an option), I don't remember. Having an M1 Macbook Air made me feel for the very first time to have a real computer, something that works. (and I have a PC for gaming, I find the Macbook better and it's silent and doesn't use as much power so I save on bills).

I love Reaper, my fave skin is Jreng Metric and mixing in Reaper is a breeze, creating aux busses tracks is so easy and fast. UNLIMITED TRACKS forever.

I have lots and lots of plugins (including Softube, UAD, Fabfilter, IK Mult...ewww). Right now my favorite is.... OVERLOUD COMP LA I use it on every single track, on every type of track. Allows you to really hear what your track sounds like, so you can apply EQ if needed, and if needed, to do so properly. (I own the UAD and IK Multi...ewww versions too). UAD version is kind of harsh, Overloud's has more knobs for more tone sculpting and AMAZING saturation, and IKM's is just a toy. WAVES what?

C D E F# G A B Play a C chord or CMaj7, play F# not F as it sounds horrendous), you get the Lydian sound. Or Play an F chord or FMaj7, play B (all white keys: F G A B C D E) and you get the Lydian sound. Etc, etc. There you go.

What makes it stand out from a stock plugin? Has autogain. Can add harmonics (with taste, not mere distortion). Apparently, avoids aliasing. Sweet.
