I think I'm interested to know more about what you think is missing from the Matrix as currently implemented, vs. Project 5 (and Bitwig, FL, Ableton Live, and so forth).

What features should be added? What features should be changed?

There are many errors in the matrix.

Copying clips was implemented with errors.  The logic by which he inserts clips into 2 or 3 tracks is unclear.  The work in the matrix is implemented for the most part for drums.  The clip can only be opened in the sequencer.

It would be convenient to use a matrix like in Bitwig to store options and sketches.  And then be able to open clips in piano roll.  Which was implemented in Project 5. And now in Bitwig.

  2. Dear developers!

It would be very interesting to know about plans to finalize the Matrix module!
If it, this module, would be improved to the level of Cakewalk Project 5, it would be the best alternative to Bitwig and Ableton on the market!!!

At the moment, for me personally, the module is useless. But it could become a very cool and very popular feature, which is in Bitwig and Logic.

Let's support the idea to finalize the matrix (already written about it on the forum) and make it one of the features of the future Sonar!

    What do you think?

  3. Cosmic, symphonic, mind-blowing

This track is not just a collection of notes and sounds. This cosmic rhythm is a slowed-down breath of time, a flight into the heart of the impossible. This is my sincere tribute to the achievement of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin and the general designer Sergey Korolev, which took place on April 12, 1961.

I am not a professional musician. Music is my hobby.
And creating this composition took almost a year and a half of my life, but every note is a drop of energy dedicated to the heroism of Yuri Gagarin! ?

Inspired by the music of Zodiac, Jean Michel Jarre, melodies from the cartoon "Secrets of the Third Planet", I tried to convey not only sounds, but the emotion of space, the energy and power of that moment of launch that ignited the space age around the world.

It's not just music - it's a story! The dialogues of Gagarin and Korolev, the voice of the announcer on the radio, which excited every inhabitant of the Soviet Union during the broadcast - everything takes off with the music!

Come with me on this space trip!
I'm waiting for your impressions and comments! ?

The attention to detail on note choice, rhythm, and composition in general paid off.  It shows.  It's an excellent soundscape.

Jeff, thank you or the listening and feedback! I try to make this track with crystal sound ?

Gives me a peaceful and relaxed feeling.
Like Jack mentioned it could use something more melodic on top.
Dialing up the reverb a little (or a lot) would ramp up the cosmic component, as would a bit of delay effects.
    Nice job on this.
    -=Bjorn

    Hello, Bjorn!

It's a good idea about something more melodic on top!

Thank you for the comment and listening!

I liked it, very wooooshy, and some great panning in your mix! Lots going on but the elements don't get lost in each other.

Drums are pretty minimal, almost as if they are suggesting the beat rather than stating it. It's a mixing choice, sounds good but I found myself wanting a "drums up" section. The kick is of course the most present element, but maybe getting the snare/hi hats more prominent, at least in parts, could be an idea to add dynamics to the piece.

A stellar mix that certainly fits the chill zone. Nice job!

    cheers,

    -Tom

Wow, how well you described everything, Tom!

Interesting drum idea, thanks a lot!!

It seems to me that I went too far with the kick (( It seems that while working on the track, after mixing and production, the sound of the tracks is completely different (((

The idea of making the snare/hi-hats more visible is very cool, I appreciate it!Thanks again for your attention to my music, Tom!

    Wish you all the best!

  8. Hello there!

Like anyone at this forum - I'm waiting for any news about Cakewalk Next and Sonar. Especially about Cakewalk Sonar.

A month has already passed since the publication of the news about it. As far as I'm aware, no one has received the beta yet.

Just wondering - when will there be more news, updates and some other cookies? ?

@Jesse Jost @Noel Borthwick We are waiting for something!

It is interesting to us! Everywhere something is updated, and we here just sit and wait ? We are bored! We feel abandoned! ?

Give us some hype and mushrooms, some fun stuff! ?

Good idea! Thank you for the  listening!

  11. I have been immersed in the creative process for a long time, working on a new composition in a new for me style of Lounge, Lo-fi & Chillout.

This track is a unique combination of soft vinyl sound, cozy piano, bass guitar and percussion instruments that add rhythm and dynamics to the music. Each instrument was carefully selected and tuned to create a harmonious and heartfelt sound.

I put a lot of time and energy into this composition. I spent months reworking the tune numerous times, listening to it on different audio systems and headphones to achieve the perfect balance and accentuation of each instrument.

Every note, every chord, and every rhythm in this composition was designed with special attention to detail. I strived to create an atmosphere in which you can relax, enjoy pleasant melodies, and take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

I am now ready to share this song with you ❤ ❤

Please listen to it and enjoy the music, which is designed to create peace and immersion in your thoughts.

I always appreciate your opinion and feedback. Please share your impressions of the track in the comments. Your feedback will help me improve and grow in my writing.

Thank you for sticking with me and sharing this musical journey. I hope this composition gives you moments of peace and inspiration.

I can't wait to hear what you think of the composition and cover ?

Your comments will help me better understand how my music affects my listeners and inspire me to keep creating ❤

  12. Colleagues, if I understand info from the new site:

    1. Cakewalk Next is the desktop version of the browser version of Bandlab
    2. Cakewalk Sonar is a continuation of Cakewalk by Bandlab.

I think that the paid version and monetization are a logical continuation of the free product. Developing a good product costs money, and someone has to pay for it.
It is clear that the new product will be further developed.

I think it's a very cool start! Good marketing)))
The product is evolving, and it's cool!

I want to be a beta tester!!!
    @Jesse Jost
I want to join the team as a project / product manager! I sent you a private message.

  13. Dear colleagues, I need your advice!

About a week ago I bought a new speakers M-Audio BX4 for comparison and maybe changing my Edifier r1280t.

I want to choose near field acoustics for listening and mixing.  And now I feel embarrassed and don't know what to choose.

Edifier sound somehow cleaner and juicier on high, they have a front location bass reflex.  Their low frequencies already sound from about 50 Hz, judging by the amplitude frequency response.

M-Audio is more powerful and bassier, they have a more even amplitude frequency response, although there is a hump somewhere at 100 Hz, but the manufacturer claims that they have a low range threshold from 69 Hz.

What do you recommend for choosing?

  14. Colleagues, I want to know if you have encountered a similar problem, and if so, how did you solve it?

While working on a project, I change some volume or pan values of the VST instrument (Stylus RMX at the moment) or plug-ins in the ProChannel. And the sound of the drums or other VST seems to be interrupted, and then starts again. I have to stop playback and listen again.

The project is "heavy", the CWP file occupies almost 1 GB...

Computer Core i5, 10th generation, 16 GB of RAM, SSD disk and M-Audio Air 8 sound card.

I like the historic audio and the song certainly has a strong beat. After a while I kind of wanted to hear more variation in the beat and maybe another lead synth on top. Well, just my opinion.
    Enjoyed the listen.
    -Bjorn

Bjorn, thank you for the interesting comment!

I agree with your opinion about more variation in the beat and maybe another lead synth on top! It's very useful idea! I'll try to do it in the next composition!

    Have a good day! ?
