Parmesan Cheese works well too. Thanks! edit: or did you mean a Parmesan and Cheddar blend?
-
In that case, you really need to try the new Mac Mini: far smaller, and I hear there's a version that's ready in 1 minute
-
What? Did someone say Mac and cheese? ?
-
Sorry - my bad... I forgot because either I turned it off when I upgraded many years ago, or it's off by default. There is a setting to get a full-screen start menu. Don't know if it's exactly like the Windows 8 one, but you can still full-screen the start, and live tiles still work on it.
-
Interesting... does that mean it's draining CPU cycles to do the compression/decompression instead?
-
Is that the same as the B-....? ?
-
There is no (full screen) welcome screen anymore. Instead you get something that's a cross between the Windows 7 start menu, and the Windows 8 welcome screen; a resizable panel that you can pin live tiles/app shortcuts to.

I don't doubt that - just saying that previous Windows 10 version names have included Anniversary Update and Creator's Update; Windows 11 sounds arguably better than Windows 10, 21H2, or Windows 10, 22H1, etc depending on when it comes out. Yes - I think it's the rounded-corner windows. I half expected there to be a red, yellow, and green button in the top left corner.
-
Apparently, the people who said that have moved on https://www.xda-developers.com/windows-11/ It's also speculative right now as to whether Windows 11 is just an update name, like Anniversary Edition (or whatever it was called)

Are Apogee's drivers as good as RME's? I thought that was the main selling point for RME.

Plugin Boutique June Freebie - Presonus Fat Channel XT
antler replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
or maybe "Curvy channel"? -
Is that because the 5950x gives off more heat, or something to do with the actual layout of motherboards/suitable cooling equipment?
-
Hey Jim, Thanks for sharing the test results. I've not been following CPUs in a while - am I right in thinking that the 5950x is an AMD, and that Intels can outperform AMDs in single core performance? (either that, or I'm getting confused/mis-remembering some of your previous posts).

Native Instruments Komplete upgrade deals starts June 1st!
antler replied to Yan Filiatrault's topic in Deals
Glad I ordered mine before the stock ran out ? I think the problem is probably more to do with TracingArcs' comment - possibly Brexit related. T+S have been really good with customer service in my experience, so I can't see any reason they'd want to affect their reputation. Also, it doesn't make sense that NI would want to 'punish' retailers; by retailers 'selling serials', they're actually helping. The disks would probably be dumped straight away by people who don't want them, and by returning them back to NI, NI have another unit to repackage and sell again - they don't have to go through the resources (time/material) of making another one, they just have to put a new serial card into the box and reseal it. Greener for the environment too. -
The m1 sounds amazing - why would you return a computer that can load an instrument containing 5.26GB (compressed)/13.7GB (uncompressed) sample data (which is the size of the actual sample data, irrespective of the CPU's instruction set), as well as all those other instruments into 8GB system RAM, and continue running smoothly at low latencies? Sounds like a great DAW; wouldn't it have been better to hold onto it, and then upgrade/trade up when the next version comes out? Can you remember which other instruments (you mentioned strings, horns, guitars, piano, and vocals) you loaded into Kontakt? * https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/keys/the-grandeur/
-
So in your opinion, do you think you could comfortably run a project that uses Spitfire Audio's BBCSO Core/Pro on an M1 mac with 8GB RAM?
-
I know everything is subjective with guitar tone, but how do you like this one Larry? I get the feeling it was one of the best amp sims around at one point, but has it stood the test of time with some of the newer products (e.g. Amplitube 5, TH-U, Bias 2, etc)?

Kontakt Player libraries that you download from within Native Access will install into the Content location, as set in the Native Access preferences. If you want to relocate them, you can do so after they've downloaded. Just remember to re-run NA and 'repair' the libraries, pointing to the new location.

Odd name; Peakbuster sounds like some kind of limiter to me, rather than a transient booster. Looks like a cool plugin though.

What treesha said sounds about right. Once it has been 'repaired' in Native Access it should be available in either the standalone, or the plugin version. Also, when moving the folders around, probably a good idea to not rename the instrument's parent folder - I've tried renaming some folders before and NA has refused to find it.

Does this still use iLok?

Sideshowfx releases Cubase Programmed Keys for Streamdeck 15 key and XL
antler replied to Reid Rosefelt's topic in Deals
This is the first time I've heard of Stream Deck - does it work with (i.e. 'control') any software? or is there only a specific set of apps that work with it? -
Good point. Even with the download manager, downloading the whole thing is a pain... I kinda wish they had a (pause-able) way to just batch-download all of the sounds in one click.
