    PA DSM V3

Seems like an adapted Lord of the Rings quote, but could it actually be a hint towards a black 1176 style compressor? ?
  2. Just wanted to point this out, in case it's important to anyone; from the FAQ:
  3. Might just be my ear, but the tutorial videos (of the modelled instruments) sounded quite good to me. It mentioned that you have to slightly detune each instance, and also tweak the controller curves as well (e.g. redraw it with the mouse); don't know how long it took to do the whole thing though.
  4. Is this just the brass? I was considering getting the pro versions of the four libraries at some point (i.e. my long term wishlist) as the demos sounded quite good to me. My main targets would be epic/cinematic orchestral arrangements, and maybe also in some tunes in the pop/rock genre.
  5. If I remember correctly, Samplemodelling does sample libraries whereas Audio Modelling does instrument modelling; only saxophones though. Their philosophy would be that you can build your own ensemble to your exact requirements, at the cost of taking time.
  6. The main representative of The Police has released a statement: Every breath you take and every move you make Every bond you break, every step you take, I'll be watching you Every single day and every word you say Every game you play, every night you stay, I'll be watching you

    FALLEN

Really nice song! To me it has a calming/dreamy/surreal feel to it, and sounds like the type of song used in the game Life is Strange. (I mean that as a compliment).

    Night Beach

I enjoyed this. Very aptly named too: evocative, with the dancing synth parts sounding like twinkling stars, and the synth pad with the long-ish attack time sounding like waves breathing as they wash in and flow out. Good mix too. Thanks for sharing.
  9. I hope they get paid something if it's used
  10. This just in: possible suspect identified as Dynamic Mike
  11. Good point; I was just trying to find a pun. Though I suppose technically you could do something in breach of GPL2 (which it's licensed under)
  12. Does every member get a voucher? or are there conditions, e.g. minimum time as a member; minimum total amount spent; etc. ?
  13. I'm very sorry for your loss. As bitflipper mentioned, don't hold back on making music if you feel you can; I read somewhere that creativity triggers chemicals in the brain that can help you to feel better.
  14. The most worrying thing about this is that I've known some people who look like that troll
  15. This is a good song Douglas. I think this has previously been mentioned, but it sounds to me like the cymbal crashes (open high hats?) when played successively are a tad loud, causing the compressor to pump the sound a little. Other than that minor point, it's a good mix. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Thanks @freddy j
  17. Thanks everyone; I'm glad you thought it was a good listen. Thanks Michael. It's good to know that the hours I've put into this hobby over the years have made me better at it. [Either that, or my newer plugins just sound good regardless of what settings I dial in ?]
  18. When it matters aim for the stars, even if you end up flat on your face; that way, at least you'll know you tried. (Disclaimer: just try and minimise the distance if you fall)
  19. Really good song. Couldn't really hear anything bad with the mix.
  20. Just in time; I've been really impressed with their piano tones, and have been wanting a glockenspiel/celeste for an upcoming project
  21. So far I've been using Overloud's Tapedesk on my songs, with an instance on each (and every) track and bus, meaning that my project will typically have somewhere between 10-40 instances (as well as other plugins) active. Is this how IK's tape machines would be used, or is it a case of just using it on the master bus? I've heard that CPU usage is a little high.
