  1. Old thread alert but if you have any electric fences nearby they pump out a lot of RF interference like that. The fact you say it slows down at a different buffer size rules that out but I tossed it in for future reference.
  2. I always make sure there’s data at least 2 measures past the end then export. Then I top and tail the song in Wave Lab. It’s more precise and I can experiment with fade outs. You can do this in Cakewalk but that workflow is CLUNKY
  3. The op is using the free bundle from Melda. Like I said if you don’t like the Nag banner then slip them a few bucks and it’s gone. The plug in alliance was probably a demo that expired.
  4. My only request would be to get rid of the Q&A sub forum. It seems a duplicate of this forum. I don’t like the fact it doesn’t show the last answer and time so you have to open threads and scroll down to see if the OP has responded to your answers. And possibly only 10% of the threads get the best answer checked. I freaked out when I noticed the edit button was gone. I use that a lot. Glad it still works
  5. Ok that might explain the difference as then you obviously are sharing the same driver and the list of available inputs would be different than when one use only one interface.
  6. Melda like many plug in vendors uses a manager app. You can run that to check status of any you install. They also periodically offer a discount on an upgrade that removes the nag and adds some minor improvements to the free bundle. I paid $50 I think. That’s dirt cheap considering the quality of the plug ins. Just subscribe to e mails. Cakewalks plug ins never need activation but Cakewalk does every 6 months or so.
  7. Welcome to the wonderful world of digital audio and plug ins. If projects are of value and you want them to be future proof then you will need to start taking steps to ensure that they are safe from becoming obsolete down the road. Steps to take: If the project contains any midi, save it as a midi file. Also export those tracks as audio stems. Audio should be exported as stems both dry and wet versions. Put all this in the project folder in its own folder. Any DAW could be used to rebuild the song instantly. Then take screenshots of all the plug ins GUI open. This will help figuring out what they were and the settings used. Make a document and write down important details you think you need. As time moves on plug ins have evolved and right now we are beyond using any 32 bit plug ins in a reliable way. DX is next on the list and a 32 bit DX will be bad news. Many of us still really like the Cakewalk supplied DX plug ins but I have stopped using them for this very reason. I can’t rely on them to work 10 years from now. The TTS-1 is now crashing if added later in projects, so building a huge project relying on it is only asking for trouble. Next on the list might be VST 2 plug ins probably will not be supported in the future.
  8. The default input in my world has always been it will choose the first stereo pair of your interface. Many newbies don’t realize this and end up recording everything in stereo. This is not what is desired for most audio tracks when using a mike or DI guitar. I almost never use a stereo track. Only hardware synths. You still don’t mention what that interface is?
  9. My thoughts as well. We see the word sample at presume it’s the audio sample generated by the SI bass. This might also be interpreted as Example. We see Bars and presume this is a measure. It could also be a reference to the midi note blobs in PRV. So rewording question as “I want to use the midi bass line notes and create chords from them in PRV. “. If this is the question then the answer will be you have to manually draw the other notes. Cakewalk doesn’t have an automatic chord generator other than the arpeggiator. If it isn’t the question then ?!
  10. In my video ( 8:00) I briefly mentioned checking the Reg Edit app to see if other ASIO drivers are still registered. Generic ASIO drivers have been known to interfere with the latency timing adjustment calculation that Cakewalk uses to keep tracks in sync. Check there and remove all but you interfaces driver. You can perform a Loopback test to see if something is wrong with your device set up. I show a screen shot at around 8:50. You start with a Drum track and you loop it back from your interfaces output to a input and you record the audio to a new track. You zoom in and see if it's out of sync. a bunch of us tested dozens of interfaces years ago and all the ASIO interfaces were within a few milliseconds of perfect. But the loopback test will show how much you are late or early and you can use that to properly set the timing offset. I have the Steinberg ASIO driver that my Soundcraft mixer uses and its a good driver and is in perfect sync. So I sort of doubt its the driver at fault, but something else might be wrong. 5000 samples divided by 48 hz =104ms that's pretty bad.
  11. Hopefully you are using ASIO drivers supplied by Steinberg. This video explains exactly how to set your audio up in Cakewalk. If you use ASIO you shouldn’t have to adjust timing offset. Note that the visual drawings of the wave form will not be in sync as you perform. Don’t look at that. If you’re looking at anything look at the drum track and mostly use your ears to play in time. After you stop the recording Cakewalk adjust the drawing so yes it will appear to move to the exact spot you played it. This is my complete playlist of tutorials if you are new or just wanting to increase your knowledge of Cakewalk and it’s features. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7YqVth30eGsURWrKGeu-fFyg3ETjF-Ox
  12. Possibly the OP did not delete the Real Tek ASIO driver in the Reg Edit?
  13. You realize the OP never replied and now has reposted in the general forum same sort of question! Bass Guitar mentioned that he/she/they accidentally bumped this thread. I’ll fix my dead link there must be a hundred of these in old posts after I deleted all the first videos.
  14. What audio interface are you using? Default Record is a new one to me? It normally lists the input numbers. Are you using ASIO? You always have to select the input you are using. Cakewalk has no way to guess which input of your audio interface you are using. That would be weird. If you use the “Add Track” then Audio you have the option there to choose the input source.
  15. 1972. The upgrade was he used the Tremolo tube as an extra pre amp so I have an input gain as well as the standard volume. So it can go to 11 on the pre amp and the output can be toned down. I also put a Celestion Vintage 30 in it. The range of Fender Twin clean to Marshall distortion is all there and at the perfect stage volume. It is the best Blues tone ever. I’ve done hundreds of gigs with it with nothing but a delay pedal. I miss it. The Skylark only has one sound which is cool but not what I always want. The Tremolo is very good. But I also have a Mooer Trelicopter pedal. Theres lots of videos about fixing these old amps and my son is an electrician/ technician so we will take it on as a rainy day project.
  16. I think because of the new interest in Tube stuff in the last decade that tubes are now obviously a common item available all over the internet and music stores. It wasn’t like that in the 90’s. For a while it was only Russian made as we were told tubes are not used in North America anymore so not worth maintaining the special equipment needed. In the 70’s you could still find a tube tester and a large inventory in small local general stores. RCA was a common brand. Older Cars still had tube radios. Electohome stereos etc. Then in the 80’s they were much harder to find as consumers all had solid state audio now. In the past I had a tube amp repair shop that’s 100 km away service my Fender Princeton and that sort of died on me a few years ago and I still haven’t gotten around to fixing it. I use my Blackstar ID 15 TV now as well as the 1964 Gibson Skylark which tested out good but that’s been 10 years ago. It only uses 3?tubes so it’s almost cheaper to just replace them than pay the tech to service it. I think the Princeton needs a new output transformer. I miss it but it was used hard for 10 year after the overhaul and started acting up. The overhaul cost $600 back in 1994. So this why I went with the Blackstar. Dependability. Anyhow I’m going to order a tube for the Art and see what happens. What the heck.
  17. @rsinger I think my information was from years ago probably on Gear Space (Slutz back then) and it was a discussion about using the Art Tube pre. If you are familiar with Gear Space you know what gear snobs are all about . But everyone seemed to agree it needed a new tube so I did that. I think I used a Groove Tube which was sort of all you could find back then ( 2005? ) Which also brings up the fact mine might be pretty bagged out after all those years. This thread has me thinking a new 12ax7 might be worth the $40 to see if it would sound better. I tried it with a vocal mike a while ago just for kicks and it wasn't something I liked at all. Anybody have recommendations for decent quality tubes? I'm out of touch with that. I should re tube my Gibson Skylark as well. When I owned the Music store I had a Tube tester the local "TV and radio" shop guy gave me. I have no clue where it went?
  18. @Byron Dickens, @JnTuneTech The OP actually returned on the 19th. I've noticed a lot of 1 post wonders do this. And even some who ask a lot of questions. I called out a person once for repeatedly posting and abandoning the threads and they responded saying they didn't think they needed to bother and that it was none of my business what they do. These days if I see a post count of 1 and someone has already replied I wait and see.
  19. The Art, as I said above is a great tool because it has a huge range of input and output available. Turn it down using its output level, It IS an Active DI, so I don't see the need for an additional DI box between it and the interface. Before you do that try setting it's output lower. Set the input of the Art experimenting with the pad and the input level until the desired sound is achieved without the clip light turning red. Set the input of your interface at about 10 or 12 O' Clock. ( this is a educated guess) starting at zero, slowly turn it up the output level of the Art until the Interface peak level starts to clip and then back it off a bit until there is absolutely no sign of clipping, If the above is not going well, as in, you end up with the output of the Art almost off and the Interface gain at 8 O'clock, then for sure there is a severe impedance miss match. When I used it on a live stage it was always going through a snake to the mixer and that for sure was into a pre amp. I never had an issue. As I said it's great to kick up the whimpy output of passive instruments. I would also run keyboards through it with no issues.
  20. I have an Art tube pre if yours is the same as mine it will have both XLR and line inputs and outputs. Your Audio box has Combo jack inputs which will take all impedances so I do believe if you connect the Art 1/4 output to the Audio Box with a 1/4” patch cable you will be fine. Worth mentioning is the Art actually doesn’t improve the sound and can actually sound worse. But you can modify and make improvements. This is due to the original tube is low quality and there’s really not enough juice from the wall wart to supply the tube. This is why tube amps have massive power transformers and capacitors. I have a bunch of pre amps and DI boxes and the Art is left over from my live sound days. It was a a great DI for live sound because of its wide range of input and output. Perfect on cheap passive acoustic guitar pick ups. The crappy sound is not noticeable under those circumstances but it’s not really a tool I would recommend for recording. I put a high quality tube in mine but it didn’t really help much.
  21. Just go to a computer you haven't installed Cakewalk on and download it and the extras. You can probably do it on the same computer but this is what I did a few weeks ago. They will all be in your download folder one way or the other. Take note that at this point there's no information telling us they will remove the 6 month re activation time out from the final release. There's a good chance they will keep that so they can tell how many people are still using CbB. I think there's no worries about them removing CbB completely in the near future. Only time will tell. Relax.
  22. If you read what they said, all they are doing with CbB is a few bug fixes they had already worked out before they switched over to working on the new products. My guess is that was ready to release back in December. People keep excepting the last update of CbB will have new stuff added?? Why would they do that. You want new stuff? from now on you pay for it and it's called Sonar. The only "new feature" many are hoping for is the removal of the authorization time out. But I wouldn't put money on that either. They still might want to track how many people are still using CbB and not upgrading to Sonar. That is valuable information for a business to have. Say 2 years from now they still see a huge majority of people are still using CbB and Sonar is not doing that well. If it was my business I would most certainly pull the plug on the free version. Next is a totally different kettle of fish and I have a feeling it will be the winner for them. There is obviously a good reason why they want to release everything all at once.
