Copy Track Settings To Existing Track
John Vere replied to John David Ross's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
And you can save pre sets for most all plug ins including pro channel -
When you tried this did you solo the track? What is the VST instrument?
-
Yep. Keeping a DAW in the air is just like keeping a 747 in the air. You can put it on auto pilot for only part of the journey. A good pilot is more hands on
-
You need to supply more details if you want a solution faster. computer? audio interface? are you using 3rd party plug ins. Do you have proper balanced connections via an interface to studio monitors? is this just a laptop with computer speakers? Or try this solution.

DX EFFECTS MISSING IN CAKEWALK LATEST VERSION
John Vere replied to Julio Bonnemaison's topic in Instruments & Effects
To lazy to look it up but don't Sonitus get installed via CCC and when you install Splat? Or was it X3? The OP could just run the Splat or X3 installer. I know there's a danger of messing up CbB but I did this on one computer and nothing terrible seemed to happen. And yes in support of Sonitus I still use the Delay. It is so far the only one I can get to sync to tempo in a way I understand. It's on every rock or country song I think I've recorded. -
Where is the latest info " Installing Cakewalk?"
John Vere replied to John Vere's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
OK that's pretty sketchy. I guess that's why it's not showing as it's just a Beta test. To bad they don't have it official yet as that would give me a solid link to use. One of the things I'm trying to overcome is all the outdated information on the Tutorials and internet. -
I just spent at least 20 minutes on Google looking for the most up to date link to downloading and installing Cakewalk and got nowhere. I have seen a few mentions of it here on the forum that this has changed but I didn't pay close attention as at the time it didn't concern me. Of course searching the forum doesn't work. All the stickies are out of date. The latest release is 40 pages long. I am in the process of making a new tutorial and want to be accurate but everything on the Web shows the Bandlab assistant still. Is this correct for a fresh install?

DX EFFECTS MISSING IN CAKEWALK LATEST VERSION
John Vere replied to Julio Bonnemaison's topic in Instruments & Effects
Probably the biggest loss for me if the TTS-1 died would be playing GM downloaded midi files. But that said, my live performance days seemed to have ended with the abrupt halt in gigs since the Pandemic came to town. So I probably won't be making backing tracks anymore anywhoo, therefore no need to look for cover tune midi files. Somehow that doesn't break my heart. But I would think we'll get a few more years out of the old DX stuff yet. Its been a long time since the TTS-1 crashed for me and I do think it was the situation where I added it late in the game. There are just so many real good FREE and CHEAP VST instruments and effects that I'm not loosing sleep over this one. -
In your screen shot with red circle there is nothing chosen for the master bus output. Change the master buss output to the output your studio monitors are connected to. Oddly in the other 2 shots it looks like you have selected output 3+ Normally we hook out speakers up to output 1/2/ On mine it would say Focusrite OUT 1 But looking at your tracks , they look like they are going directly to Focusrite something. They should be going to your Master buss. Are you using ASIO? Those output numbers look wrong for ASIO. Your device list should look like this. And you can see in the background what my outputs look like. All tracks and sub busses go to master and the master goes to your interface.

Hmm. I find that odd that only using Channel 1 would result in a multi track export. But then I always use SAVE AS- MID. type 1 I never use export. Here's a explanation I found. Type 1 files contain separate information for each track. For a Type 0 file, however, all the tracks are merged into a single track, although MIDI channel information is still retained. When a Type 0 file is loaded into a sequencer, it will take each channel’s information and put it on a separate track. So for a typical sequence with one track per MIDI channel, it will normally not matter if the sequence is saved as Type 0 or Type 1. But if your source sequence has several tracks assigned to the same MIDI channel (for example several drum tracks playing the same program on the same channel, but with an individual drum sound on each track), then it is best to export it as a Type 1 file. If exported as Type 0, all tracks assigned to the same channel will be merged into a single track when the .MID file is loaded.

Yes Anvil is a great old simple sequencer. I’ve used it lots to find stuff that Cakewalk event list seems to miss. But you need each midi track using it’s own channel or that will happen. And the limit is 16. The Tts1 is a good tool to use for testing midi files. If the project plays properly with it then your midi file will play on all GM devices

Sorry. All I know is It should be the default setting and myself I’ve never had to change it. my guess is it’s fast. I can’t think that I’ve ever had any artifacts on clip ends. and I chop up a lot of tracks. I’m just careful about the spot I choose by zooming in on the wave form. Never use snap when doing this. Turn it off.
-
Yes there’s a setting to cross fade at zero somewhere in preferences
-
Sorry I deleted all my tutorials a few months ago as they had errors I needed to fix. You’re the first one to notice they were gone so no hurry to replace them ?
-
Sorry but you have a lot of miss information. I cannot recommend these. I appreciate your efforts but accuracy is very important when teaching technology to beginners. There's just way to much in this that I would never recommend doing. You even say "I don't know what this does or I don't know what this means. " ??? Look it up then.

DX EFFECTS MISSING IN CAKEWALK LATEST VERSION
John Vere replied to Julio Bonnemaison's topic in Instruments & Effects
Actually there is one good reason to start using others- eventually they won't work. It's best to keep abreast of software updates. You fall to far behind you'll have issues with that project 3 or 4 years down the road. TTS-1 is a good example. It's just barley co-existing at this point in time. It's going to be a sad day for many when W11 and Cakwalk build 134 kill it. You should not build your house out of crumbling bricks. -
DX EFFECTS MISSING IN CAKEWALK LATEST VERSION

All working fine here. -
I'm not sure if I'm missing some detail but if I take a clip and drag it over a second clip they seem to merge.
-
This is an old thread and I’m pretty sure one of the updates fixed this issue and the default settings are now different.

On board audio is when you use the computers sound chip. In your case it is a Real tech. If you use a proper “Outboard “ audio interface then it will come with ASIO drivers and you should always use those when using that device. Glad you got it working.
-
You cannot use on board audio for recording in sync. Only ASIO mode reports Round trip latency correctly so Cakewalk can adjust your sync. And DON'T use the Real tech ASIO driver as it is reported to be very low quality. You need a proper ASIO audio interface for recording audio with any DAW. On board will work fine for midi and using loops.

Actually I never thought of that. So any one of us could give the OP our copy of Sonar 8.5 as an ISO image and if they have a serial number and activation code they would be good to go. But I have a feeling this OP might not have safely stored that information. They have wandered off anyways so I guess we need more info from them first. @User 905133 I don't see Sonar 8 on my Products page I think it was not part of that system. But then again I might not of bothered to register it. In those days I just would install, use the serial numbers and use it. X1 LE was the first version of Sonar I registered. I still have the original disk for Guitar Studio 6. I got that free with a piece of Roland gear.

Michael not sure you saw my post about using Gold Wave to batch convert the files. Takes seconds. Gold Wave is free to use with a Nag. -
