  1. You can use Track templates instead
  2. +1 to Melodyne 5. They offered it for $99 as an upgrade and it was well worth the price. I could never get my head around it in the past so continue using V vocal. I watched the video of the M5 release and finally got it. I think it is much improved and less buggy than 4.
  3. The other day I had little crackles on a narrative on playback. Wasn’t there on monitoring. Turns out I had changed my sample rate in the recording software ( OSB) to 48 but my interface and Windows were set to 44.1. Just a thought.
  4. I like that-Cakewalking Thats as good as the other day a person who said English wasn’t their first language called the busy icon the “ spinning wheel of thought “. ?
  5. You didn’t read my post. You need an interface with loop back for streaming Those Behringers don’t look like they do.
  6. We are trying to help. But as I said I'm not even sure where you are at with this.. a month goes by and have you done any further research? and ya, read the instructions that come with the Sample player? We are very helpful here if your ask questions and stay engaged in the thread. Otherwise myself I will assume you figured it out ( great) So what is the question?
  7. So over a month goes by and the op returns with even less info about what it is they are trying to do.
  8. This video will be posted for a few day only So I hope that the op returns before I delete it Guess not
  9. The Input gain control at the top of Audio and Instrument tracks are identical in nature. There is no difference for the Gain control at the top of a channel strip between a Simple instrument track or the Split instrument track . For all audio tracks including instrument tracks it controls the Input gain coming to the top of the signal path for the channel strip from either an audio track or the audio generated by a VST instrument. Pretty sure the Gain control for a Instrument track follows after the Level control of the GUI. A Simple Instrument track has midi Channel and bank and patch boxes just like a midi track. And a Split Midi instrument track doesn't. A Simple instrument track can record Midi data but a Split Instrument track will actually record the Audio of the VST, not midi. The MIDI gain control in the same location on the channel strip is for Velocity, not audio gain. Don't use that or you could change the timber of many VST samples. I think this is what is happening to the OP. Velocity might seem to be volume but is not what it was designed for. It's the difference in how hard something is played. Of course you hit a drum harder it will be louder, but the timber changes as well. For Midi Use the GUI mixer or level, or Instrument ( audio ) tracks gain or the channel fader. For the midi tracks you would use the fader for volume. Individual drum kit pieces or multi timbral VST's are adjusted in either the GUI mixer or if you split the instrument output into multiple audio tracks.
  10. Exactly. Regional effects have always been on the edge for me so years ago I developed the habit of always copy the track first. Then chop it into short clips. No more than 2 measures. Then after the edit I render the regional effect. Never had it not work. If you want to redo something it’s pretty easy to copy from the original
  11. That’s not exactly true. You need at least 7 of them to cover different keys. A good brand like Lee Oskar or Honer are more like $50. Lots of players like Kontact, Dim pro and my go to Air Xpand have good harmonica patches. You can get Xpand for a little as $10 on sale. So if you had old Sonar you’ll have Dim Pro or Rapture look there first. Tts1 has one but it’s sort of lame.
  12. Ok that’s not hard to do but I don’t have time to type out the steps right now. Latter after dinner
  13. Your not being clear about what you are trying to do. Do want to copy an entire project? Do you want to copy a selection of tracks? Do you want to cut the project into individual songs?
  14. I’m not clear on what your issue is but most new interfaces have a loop back feature that was added because so many people need to live stream audio from audio software. I can screen capture or live stream from my Motu M4 while running Cakewalk in ASIO mode.
  15. As I just found out don’t use the input quantization as this also creates double notes. Just in case other read this
  16. Lucky you,, I just finished this and its all about Cakewalk audio and I actually Guarantee Sound after you watch it
  17. The reason you were hearing nothing is you soloed the midi track which is associated with the DSK Brass VST. When you changed the midi track output the instrument you selected would be muted still. The DSK brass would be the one soloed. You would have heard the new choice if you had un soloed the DSK Brass and midi track and re soloed again. This will then solo the new output associated with the midi track
  18. If your C drive is full you must be storing data files there. Move the data to a storage drive were it belongs. A full C drive will have issues. I keep mine under 60 % if possible.
  19. Man. We really need to bring manufacturing back home. I tried to by a frigging stove and there’s none to be had. Guess why. Meanwhile there are empty factories in Canada and the US that not long ago made these things. Oops better not break the rules here.
  20. No Cakewalk is optimized for W10 and there’s been many changes since W10 came out to both. Cakewalk is a windows only DAW so it’s very integrated to windows. You would really notice a difference if you brought everything up to date. The other day I had to fire up my Windows XP machine to print CDs. My printer is that old. Man is that slow. W10 is probably the best OS in my lifetime and I really have no issues. Because people complained I think they backed off on the bloat ware so that’s old info. I only keep my old OS systems going because of hardware compatibility issues. I would not want to go back to W7 for daily tasks. It too slow.
  21. I was working on over 200 songs that are my Backing tracks and they were just midi. I used One Drive with out issues. It was brilliant. Those backing tracks saw a lot of changes and with One Drive they were globally kept updated in 3 locations. The 2 Desktop computers as well as the cloud storage. To bad this system is not exactly right for audio. I would have to purchase more storage to do this.. But because systems like One Drive and Drop Box can keep a copy stored Locally you're actually not really working on the cloud, your working locally. So keep that in mind as well. It wouldn't help you get stuff out of the laptop unless you set it to not store locally. I have also worked plenty of times using an External drive for full projects with out issue. But That drive is SSD and I use USB 3 ports. And yes there's no difference between copying a project folder or the whole Cakewalk folder. It sounds to me like what you should do is back up your Cakewalk Project folder to not one, but 2 external drives. Date those folders . You can also purchase a bunch of thumb drives dirt cheap. What ever, but you defiantly want it back up more than once to do the following. Or you could also back them up to a cloud storage system as well. Once everything is safely backed up and you have tested the files to make dead sure they are good to go, then delete everything in the C drive Cakewalk folder that your are not working on at the moment. And as time moves on back those up to the external drives with new dated folders. This is sort of how I manage my Laptop. And if I want to work on a song this is when I might just use the external drive. But it does make more sense to copy it back to the Laptop.
  22. The video editor I use Movie Studio Platinum or what was Sony Vegas is as capable as any DAW with its audio. I can use most of my audio plug ins and it seems to use any wave audio format I drop in there. Sound Forge is even built in. When I make music videos I might have 3 cameras with audio. I simply take my Cakewalk export of the song and line it up using the count in. I then kill all the camera audio. Because i use backing tracks they always sync up
