(RESOLVED) Plug-in Manager painfully slow since 2018.11 update

Recommended Posts

Being a creature of habit, I had no idea I could create "custom" layouts in the plugin browser. I'm going have to try this when I get home this evening. Learn something new every day

Copy %appdata%\Cakewalk\Library\Library.db

Thanks scook!

I just wonder if there is something else that is also stored in Library.db or just the configuration of the Plug-in Browser?

It was added in 2016.08 to support the new plug-in browser.

Hey scook, are you sure you're not on the payroll. 😀

So even better - I fixed the slow loading of the categories 😉
I now cache the data that was causing the really slow registry lookups when the plugin manager starts up.

The startup of the app will be slower but now switching categories is just a fraction of a second to refresh.

Thank you so much, Noel!

I just updated to 2019.01 and loading the Plug-in Manager is actually way faster for me now and switching among categories is instantaneous. I'm grateful for you getting this improvement out there so quickly. Cheers!
