one apple + one pear = one quince 

means 1+1=1

Duh.

But to be fair, F + 1 can also equal 10.

Depends on how many fingers you're holding up. Two, or all sixteen.

Well, if you have something with a value of 1.5, and another something with a value of 1.5 than two of those somethings would equal three, so...

1+1 could equal 3!
