Craig Reeves 35 Posted November 15, 2020 It seems like the performance is better in this version. I can load more VST's and more audio, even on a laptop that's not very fast and Cakewalk can easily handle it, whereas it seems like before it would (as well as some other DAWs) struggle. It seems like for whatever reason this version is faster and performs better.
Colin Nicholls 377 Posted November 16, 2020 I suspect you're seeing the benefits of the optimizations included in 2020.11

Neil Cummins 7 Posted November 16, 2020 Dynamic VST Plugin buffer size optimisation has definitely improved sample-based instruments on my low spec machine,a lot faster and more responsive.
micv 18 Posted November 16, 2020 for me might be this: "Projects with tracks containing many Take lanes with muted clips now draw and scroll more than 20x faster." recorded audio wave form seems to draw much faster. Before it might still be 'rendering' a few second after you stop the recording.

If you're using plugins that have a huge amount of parameters (e.g. TH3 or Scheps Omni Channel), this can cause this. We're aware of the issue, and are looking at solutions.
