Stereo vs effects

Hi,

I am using Cakewalk Platinum, the last version before Bandlab. I am hoping that I still can ask a question here and get an answer.

My question is regarding stereo channels and using effects. If I insert an effect, say a sonitus compressor in the effects chain of a stereo channel, is this effect automatically stereo? IOW, are all effects stereo capable, and if not, how do we know?

all fx are stereo compatible, if you have issues try searching "pan laws" because when mono tracks are involved things can get weird
