  1. Why is there a Track Manager if it does not include some key, no-brainer features? a) Allow a user to quickly modify track order. Ideally by click on a track and dragging it like can be done in the Track View OR by simply changing the track # and automatically moving down the track that was at the track # selected - Yes, I'm aware I can click and drag a track up or down in the track view, but that's not efficient, especially when the project flow is a lot of tracks. b) How about letting a user click on multiple tracks and desiginate them as a group, let the user choose the track # for the 1st one selected, and then putting the remaining tracks selected in the track locations below the 1st track selected? Therefore, they are not just a group, but are physically located together.
  2. Don't we deserve a DAW that understands what is in an open project and to respond accordingly? One way to do that is to let a user split a clip in the 'master row' when it reflects only one clip at a point in the composition, even when there are multiple take lines. This means a user doesn't have to open take lanes and scroll down to see how many clips are active in that point of the composition. Furthermore, to assist the user, how about color-coding the master row clip to put any section in a different color to designate when there is more than one clip at any point in the composition? That way, a user will know when a clip split action in the master row is not possible.
  3. Cakewalk has been around for decades and I'm still not seeing an option in the Track Manager to just show tracks that have Solo on them. Also, allow a user to Sort tracks to show only those that have been Solo'd Please make these happen or show me what I'm missing.
  4. To me, it's all about getting the now time, the start play time and, start record time where I want it in the quickest way possible. However, we don't always set nor want to set a marker. In fact, we don't always know when we need a marker. So, how about if when a user hovers over a clip, a pop-up appears that lets a user choose to move the start time to that clip's start time? Or let the user right click on a clip and have an option to 'Make this the Now Time'.
  5. I acknowledge that I can create a template that has Session Drummer in it with the kit I want, so that's ready to go on a track. However, there are times when I'm working on a tune and realize I've got a new idea that uses some other instruments or audio effects in the existing project. So, instead of creating a new file, and having to add all that other stuff in, I just use the file (project) I'm in and save it with a new name. However, that doesn't mean the kit in the existing project is the one I am using or want. But by allowing me to have a default kit I'd previously chosen, I just need to click insert Session Drummer and I'm good to go. In fact, maybe Session Drummer could show my top three kits when it's opened, then I don't have to open a folder like Acoustic and choose the kit. Instead, I just click on one of my fav drum kits showing as options when Session Drummer opens.
  6. How about letting users export the Tempo List as a Tempo Map? I'm talking 3 steps: 1) Click Export, 2) Give an option to choose Tempo Map, 3) Press Okay or Save. Meanwhile, I'm trying to collaborate with someone who uses Pro Tools and he requested a tempo map. But I'm not seeing that within Cakewalk. I thought exporting a MIDI file Type 0 would include tempo shifts. And while it seems to do that, the end result is clunky. I chose my MIDI drum track. And even though the drums don't start until measure 7, I dragged the MID clip to the start of the song....meaning the clip starts at zero and shows no MIDI notes until measure 7. But guess what: The exported MIDI file places the start of the song at measure 7. That didn't make me look good or make what I provided user friendly. After the fact, I see I could have said the tempo starts at 120, then at measure 20 changes to 100, then at 50 changes to 85, and finally at 100 goes back to 120. But do I really have to do that?!?
