  1. Martha my dear, have you seen the little Piggies in Strawberry Fields, forever in Revolution as they Come Together?

  3. I guess I've never been frustrated by library load times. One man's ceiling and all that....
  4. Back in the 80s I had a song selected as a backup for a movie. Backup in the sense that the author of actual song chosen was in a battle over *not* changing her lyrics. The person I spoke with, in person, asked if I was agreeable to changing anything about the song if the director requested it. Without skipping a beat, I immediately replied "yes, of course". Eventually the author caved and of course my song was not used. Here is the song: You've Got The Power
  5. yessir. Although it's called "your loyalty voucher" go figure.

  10. My little left toe did not even look half that good at 66.
  11. I had a guitar player compose a song where his bassline that I was required to play was just about like that if it was to be accomplished. I told him it could not be played by me (he only wrote out the notes). He said "that's impossible". So I sez to him "ok you play it". After three or four struggles by him to play his own "composition" he agreed that it was impossible to play and agreed to let me change that one part of the song (IIRC it was a pre-chorus).
  12. My boot drive is a Samsung 870 Evo SSD. I just upgraded my Samples drive to 16TB (45% full). AFAIK I have no streaming libraries. I also keep my Dropbox desktop app access there too. My Projects drive is 2TB (about 60% full). Getting close to upgrading to a new drive (probably 4TB this time). What would an M.2 internal SSD do for me?
  13. TruDat! 🙂 However, I'm jumping off the BIAB wagon this year. I have simply not used it enough of late (I also did not upgrade to 2021 either).
  14. @DeeringAmps I paid $1000 for my ever slightly used 1976 Series 1 in 1977 (MSRP was $2000). A quick web search says today's value of 1977 $1000 is $4475. After 45 years it does not strike me that my $1000 was any real investment. Footnote: The guy I bought it from was a P-Bass collector/seller. He admitted he did not know much about Alembics. It belonged to a young student (12 years old) of his who was unable to play the long scale. That is why he priced it "fairly" at 50% off the retail price.
  15. My 'off the shelf' Series I sold new for $2000 in 1976, today a 1976/77 Series I tends to be in the $6-8K range. Fixed for those who did not get the implied "used" value I was referring to. 🙂
  16. FWIW a Series I today is $30,500.00usd.
  17. Since that one is a custom build it's hard to say if it was an "investment". My 'off the shelf' Series I sold new for $2000 in 1976, today a 1976/77 Series I tends to be in the $6-8K range. This one is on Reverb right now for $5.5k, The body wood is rather plain compared to mine but other than the few worn spots it's a pretty good find for anyone who wants a 'vintage' Alembic for under $6K. Here's my 1976 Series I
