  1. I know what this thread is about. It's about 6 pages.
  2. One more, about Dr Feelgood, to this day, one of the best live bands I've ever seen;
  3. 'Blue Ray'..he was a seedy looking guy with a pencil 'tache and a mauve shellsuit, selling dodgy videos out the back of a Datsun Cherry.
  4. You're welcome to borrow it Bill, but it's not a Les Paul. It's a 1981 Gibson Sonex -180 Deluxe, my first 'name' guitar.

    Nice melancholy piece with a good sense of movement and plenty of melody. Don't understand why people would suggest adding vocals when you've already said it's an instrumental.
  6. Excellent Steve, that's album cover material!
  7. Most of them are 'Chord 180', black metal discs with adjustable arms - currently £2.71 each on Amazon! The others are 'String Swing' which have a nice hardwood block to fix to the wall.
  8. That was really good, thoroughly enjoyed it. If I was being picky there was a little too much about the metal guys, but some fascinating stories in there. The one about Jay Graydon & Steve Lukather writing a song for George Benson was a hoot 🤣
  9. Pro stuff top to bottom, enjoyed that a lot
  10. Great stuff, thanks Kenny. Love stuff like this. It's available on Netflix here so I'll watch it tonight.
  11. My condolences to you and yours Bob.
  12. Yes, sequencing an album could be a dying art; I say 'could be' cos I don't buy enough albums to get a full picture. I noticed with Mark Knopfler's latest (Down The Road Wherever), that although it's chock full of good songs, there's just too many of them (16 I think), and they don't flow particularly well. If I go back to his earlier records like Get Lucky or The Ragpicker's Dream, they've been carefully put together with about 11 or 12 songs.
  13. I've bought a few albums lately that are far too long. I don't know if it's a case of 'filling up the CD' or what, but it seems when albums drift to over an hour long, they lose coherence. Maybe that's just my age, and a throw back to listening to 45-50 minute LPs.
  14. I'm not saying there aren't any female vocalists here (bluesy or otherwise) but I don't recall hearing one.
  15. I think this is the actual song link Jesse. https://www.soundclick.com/html5/v4/player.cfm?songID=13837955
  16. Stems are audio tracks with all effects, automations, etc. printed into them. They're used so a mix can be re-created easily, but not a re-mix. They can be individual tracks or sub-mixes of more than one track.
  17. Not sure what Tom's been smoking, but to me you sound neither English nor anything like Elvis Costello 🤣..I got more of a Josh Groban vibe. Anyway... well written song, nicely captured. Drums are a bit stiff, but programming can be like that. Certainly of your best tunes. Just a thought - I notice you guys all post the songs on your individual pages, why not have a dedicated Scandalous Grace page on Soundcloud?
  18. Wow, this hit me just right this evening. Outstanding. Edit: I checked out the original, which I hadn't heard before. I have to say, you've really brought out the melody, and I love your arrangement.
  19. Always liked that song, used to be one of my 'getting ready to go out' tunes.
