Even if you only have the free player, you can still use it do demo all the free sounds. Keep the ones you like for when you do decide to upgrade.

Turns out that nearly half of the these are not in the the app (or not yet at least) and it seems like they're planning to update sounds weekly. So plenty of new sounds to check out.

These all have serial numbers.  Which should mean, not only will they work the free Kontakt player but should also qualify you for a  discount on the full version of Kontakt if registered.

I had the same problem. My account didn't have a user name (not sure how that happened) and there's no way to add one. I only had Reason lite . So I changed my email to an unused account. Then created a new account with previous email making sure to add a user name. Then I restored my Reason lite with the recent deal. Then I was able to get the Wave Fx deal and free synths also. If you have a bunch of stuff in your account maybe support can help you add a user name.

I asked for this feature before the subscription version came out. (for the site sales to be reflected in the app prices.) They said it was on the to do list.

Reason Studios is giving away a Waves plugin (Waves H-Comp Hybrid Compressor) and in return Waves is giving away Reason lite. Cross promotion. Reason users are relatively new to the VST world and Waves VST users may be new to Reason. Plus both would benefit from future upgrades and expanded purchases.

There are a few free Kontakt player compatible libraries, that will qualify you for the upgrade discount.  Couple that with the yearly 50% off sale or Black Friday deals and you can get the full version relatively cheap.
