Unless something has changed there are hundreds of presets bundled with DiscoDSP 's version of OB-Xd.
When I right-click on the plug-in I see 23 banks pf presets. IIRC, most were created before DiscoDSP took over development of the plug-in.
That wasn't always the case. Those were recently bundled with the software. You use to have to surf the net for the added presets. As you can see most originated on the KVR community preset page.

Sigh. 🥺
Here is a list free Kontakt player instruments. Registering the 3rd party ones will qualify you for upgrade pricing for Kontakt or Komplete. If you wait for Black Friday or the NI 50% off deal that happens once or twice a year, you can get in pretty cheap. The 30~40 gig library and the ridiculous amount of free stuff available for Kontakt makes it well worth it.

Just trying the free Zenology plugin and it is pretty nice for a freebie - one to add to the freebie instruments thread.
I have to agree here. Very nice presets on this thing.

ugh, $1.50 wasted at Plugin Boutique to get the Leveler 😁
Do a review of whatever product you bought to go with it and get a few pennies back.

It's basically an updated version of an app called Auto Theory re-branded. They added some new features and made it a plugin instead of a separate app like before. It's similar to stuff Insta Chord and Scaler (Scaler is a bit more advanced)
Edit: ZincT beat me to it.

I started my pc music journey from hardware with soundfonts. Cakewalk Express and a SBLive card. Still use Soundfonts to this day.
Here is a free SF2 editor
https://www.polyphone-soundfonts.com/
Viena is another free editor.
http://www.synthfont.com/index.html
Here is one of the few 64bit SF2 player vst's.
https://blog.rosseaux.net/page/e5ca75d98990e33b31dadc78a8df1333/Sobanth
SFZ+ is great and still works (if you can find a copy)
I recently found out that NI Battery can load SF2 files (does a good job too)
Many Wusik synths and samplers also support SF2 (currently 80% off)

Need some help here....
All the instruments sound excellent, but every single one (or pair) drops in volume after a few bars or sometimes longer (not very consistent) . In the ARP section, I see the set values in the steps/volume when it's working, and then both instruments drop to 0 and I manually adjust it to get the volume/steps back.....but then , it happens again after a few bars (sometimes less, sometimes more).
I didn't do anything other than just trying out the presets. How do I fix this?
Try changing this setting in preferences. (see pic attached)

Okay, I tried the Bass Guitar Free Demo, and oh wow, it uses over 6 GB of RAM. There is absolutely no optimization, and half of the interface did not work. yeah my misgivings were right, this is pure ordeur.
This is the biggest turn off for me. All of their stuff is ridiculously large. Even their FX VST demo is like 5 gigs. Really?... for FX?!? . Especially when you consider the entire Triton Workstation VST (with all expansions) Is less than 300 MB. vs a 6 gig bass DEMO!!!! smh

Not working so far here...I only installed the 64 bit version, and it showed
no interface in Studio One...so am trying Mixcraft now...I hear 64bit version needs admin mode. I think 64 bit is a 32 bit with build in wrapper. 32 bit version may work better with native wrapper or jbridge. Not sure though..

I never used this feature, so thanks for mentioning it. I just tried it several times with four different synths by right clicking in the track header area (both midi and instrument tracks). It worked for me with the recent synths I had listed. Not sure if there is a behavior preference setting somewhere that controls this. I looked but couldn't find any.
I just checked again and it seems to happen when simple instrument track option is selected in the the properties popup window.

Noticed minor bug. When you right click to replace synth, choosing a synth from recent history list creates new synth and leaves the old one in place. Other replace synth methods seem to work.

I wonder if this is all too little, too late ?
Yeah...We're all thinking that now...until all the new and shiny 2.0 compatible gear and plugins start showing up . Then BOOM the GAS kicks in. ...and just when you think you've got it under control, CCLarry pops out of the shadows with a ridiculous deal that you can't pass up.... There's no turning back after that. 😄
