  1. An other test ...
The project(s) I was trying it on were loaded down with soft synths.
One more try after a reboot on a project with 1 imported audio track and Melodyne is working now as a Region FX.

Strange that it worked on the loaded project yesterday and not today but I'll still call this

    SOLVED

    ... and thank you!

    -----------------------------

    Hi there,
Melodyne was working perfectly yesterday, as a Region FX but today it won't load the usual window.
It just sits for a few seconds and then the highlighted clip becomes un-highlighted.
Melodyne loads and works if I put it in the FX bin of a track but not as a Region FX.

This is in Sonar Platinum where the Region FX is failing.
I tried it on 2 or more projects and also a brand new project. Same results for all.
     However,
Melodyne Region FX works correctly in CbB and also Sonar X3.

I suspect, maybe, I accidentally bumped a button or something today and that is causing the problem?
    Don't know.
    I rescanned all plugins and also did a chkdsk on C with a    / f .
    Still not working.

Update: Just tested Vocal Sync and it's also not working as a Region FX.

Hopefully someone here might have a suggestion?

    Thank you!

    Steve

  2. Hey there,
What's with the advert on the main page
    https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk

... showing the CA-2A in the picture to the right of "Studio Quality Effects" ?

Is it available hidden somewhere as an ad-on?
Is it even able to be purchased?

If "no" to both above questions what's the hold up of getting the CA-2A with CbB?

I happen to have it because I got it when it was a free offering with SPLAT
but I work with 2 other people remotely that would love to have the CA-2A,
and then when I send them project files I would be able to use it in their projects also.

  3. I still occasionally run into this in SPLAT 2017.01 ... my go-to ...
I'm still tooling around with CbB hoping to get used to it.

I *think* it might be that we have to make the changes when the screenset is unlocked, and then also (sometimes) totally close the console(mixer) view and re-open it, make the changes necessary, then lock the screenset, to have it remember everything correctly.

Can't confirm it in CbB since I'm not in that one a whole lot yet.

  4. Hi there ...
I  suspect it's a long shot, but does anyone know a way to stop some plugins from stealing the space bar / start / stop transport focus in the DAW?
I get spoiled working with pro channel and love how most everything in there never grabs the focus away from the space bar and then when I have a 3rd party plugin up,
I really hate having to click on the frame of the DAW to regain transport control.

    Maybe there's a setting somewhere?

    Thanks!

How I do it: I select the track(s) I want in track view with (CTRL pressed if multiple) and press ALT + 3 to open the PRV with just those track(s). (You need to have some PRV settings that I don't remember the names of right now, to always just show the selected tracks.)

Edit: Or obviously simply double-clicking on a midi clip, to see just that single track.

    Interesting.
I'm still, after 3 yrs. (occasionally) trying to get the PRV in CbB  working for me.
If you could, at your leisure, discover the
"PRV settings that I don't remember"
    I'd appreciate it.
    No hurry.
    Thank you!

  6. Greetings everyone! (Windows 7 64 bit)

I'm wondering, is it possible to save (grab, export, capture) the look and feel of an older version and import it to a newer version?

I have 2018.11 (Build 31, 64 bit) installed and when building up an other new OS partition ...
I installed the current version, but it looked so different than the setup I have on the older I just bailed out.

It's mainly about the modules on the top bar it seems. I just didn't want to hassle with it,
especially since 2018.11 (Build 31, 64 bit) is running flawlessly and I did have problems with other newer versions in the past.

If the visual transition was quick and easy I'd be willing to update and see if it works as well as the older version.
    Possibly copying a config file?

  7. Solved!

    Hi there, (Sonar Platinum)

I really would like to disable the E hotkey that bypasses all FX.
I know how to assign my own hotkeys and have quite a few of my own in place,
but I can't seem to get the "E" disconnected from that "bypass all FX" button.

Can someone walk me through how to do this one?
Maybe I'm just missing something about the ones that are built in?
Even if it's a registry tweak I'm willing to try it.

    Thanks!

  8. An other vote for Macrium Reflect Free Version.
Changed to Reflect when Acronis (both software and support) failed miserably.

I have an old school DOS xcopy .bat file to backup any changes to projects folders and sample libs. to and from 4 PCs.

  9. X3 does have "snap to" in the Controller view and it is also able to be disabled / enabled by typing an "N" when in the PRV.
Of course it doesn't look the same as in the newer PRV.

CBB is the same, in that you can disable / enable "snap to" in the controller lanes by typing an "N" which also works for notes.

The value that I see in snapping controllers to the grid is that it saves visual space and is more easily edited in some instances.
If you're recording your controller data real time with a keyboard it will not snap to the grid.

If you already have controllers in the wrong place then type an "N" to disable snap and then use the move tool when
    holding down Shift
and you can easily move them to before the note without loosing their vertical value.

"V" (Invert view) seems to have been removed because of the new PRV design. The work around is mouse oriented but functional,
but I agree the older PRV was more hot key effective. Also, Creating Filters is something you should look at.

I'm still doing all of my serious work in Sonar Platinum ... the version just before the new PRV was introduced,
and I still have X3 installed also, but I'm attempting to use CBB to see if I can get used to the new PRV.

A Time+ hot key doesn't seem necessary to me.
If I ever have to use it for larger values I just click in the box, hit ENTER and then type in my guess
like 32, 64, 80, 100 etc. and then as I hear it getting close I refine the choice.
