  1. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-windows-10-turning-usb-devices Treesha might be correct about your issue, but given the paucity of your description of the problem and the system where it is occurring anyone answering your question is just making a guess. That said, the power option disconnecting a USB attached audio interface is such a common issue here that likely that is the correct guess for most such issues. A question about a problem is first of all a description of what hardware and software is involved and second a clear statement of the conditions under which it occurs. Before we can decide that your problem is related to a USB issue for example, it would be useful to know what the device you are using is and that the device is connected by USB--which information is not supplied with your question. The "AMD audio device," however is not what you would typically find as a USB connected audio device. More likely it represents the audio connection via HDMI from your AMD based graphics card. Googling "AMD audio device" yields the following: https://blogs.systweak.com/how-to-fix-amd-high-definition-audio-device-plugged-in/ https://www.minitool.com/news/amd-high-definition-audio-device.html https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/fixed-amd-high-definition-audio-device-not-plugged-in/ https://appuals.com/fix-amd-high-definition-audio-device-not-plugged/
  2. I am confused. It sounds as if you are getting an application to automate mastering on your "desktop." At first glance that would be a perpetual license and program you can install on your PC that would actually do the mastering. If so, then a lifetime would be as long as your computer kept working at least. But there is enough ambiguity so that it seems likely all you are getting on your "desktop" is a program that connects you to the online/cloud service (like a DropBox folder?). In that case a "lifetime" is only as long as a company that currently has the resources to master uploaded files can stay in business. My experience with that kind of "lifetime" has been that it may be short and unpredictable.
  3. Maybe Cherry Audio decided to do the promotional giveaway itself: https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/surrealistic-mg-1-plus-synthesizer https://cherryaudio.com/instruments/surrealistic-mg-1-plus
  4. Not only no audio demos, but nothing in the way of documentation or user manuals are apparent anywhere. Has anyone installed this? Is there any active help system installed with it?
  5. The putative port of SONAR to Mac OS was never really that successful. If your Mac is Intel based and will run Boot Camp, that was the most used option with SONAR. https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR-Mac-Prototype https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002369733-Is-Cakewalk-by-BandLab-still-PC-only-Will-it-run-on-Mac-
  6. ASIO only supports a single device at one time. So an input device/interface that uses an ASIO driver will not work with an output device that uses an ASIO driver any more than two input devices will share an ASIO driver. There are other drivers that will support multiple devices, but whether your devices will work with other driver models is the question. Specifically what makes and models of devices are you using, what version of Windows etc.? Or you can check the documentation of the devices to see what they say.
  7. MIDI over USB has become more common than not, and has significant performance benefits over the original 5-pin DIN connection. One possible downside is that you cannot daisy chain USB using a MIDI thru direct cable connection, but there are hubs and software workarounds that will create a virtual patch bay for USB connected devices to give you the same function. https://www.midi.org/midi-articles/basic-of-usb
  8. It is indeed. FYI Air Music is offering an upgrade from Hybrid 2 to Hybrid 3 for $29.99--any takers? On the other hand, I paid $0.00 for version 3.07 in May of 2018. I am not sure if that entitles me to an update to the latest version.
  9. Clearly the onboard audio on laptops is designed for playing back music and sound effects rather than running a recording studio. That said, there is no reason to think that digital audio run through the high def chipsets will be of significantly bad quality. Quality issues generally fall into the analog realm, and specifically poor microphones and preamps that tend to be used by someone trying to record on a shoestring with a laptop. I have no experience with tracking to a recording on a laptop, but it would greatly surprise me if the audio clock were to be so bad that the recorded track could not be synched to the original, given the time stretch and offset technologies available in Cakewalk. Of course the simple solution to all the questions is to run a trial. Unless your vocalist is on the schedule for a laryngectomy in the near future, he can always record a new track is the first one is garbage.
  10. I had the same problem recently. I had to find the Bandlab Assistant installer file and delete it from my computer, then download a new Bandlab Assistant installer file from the website (they are all apparently named "bandlab-assistant-windows-latest.exe). Using the actual really latest version I was able to run it, getting a warning that Bandlab Assistant was already running and checking the button to close it. Might be a good idea to name the installer files with the version number, since the old one is always going to be named "...latest" too, and there is obviously room for confusion.
  11. +1 Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to search this forum to look for solutions to a problem, and many of us do that instead of asking questions that have already been answered dozens of times. Finding SOLVED in an update original post heading (if you are the OP you can do that) and even better a statement describing the solution either in the OP or a link to the solution there, can make that task much less onerous and much more rewarding. You can create a link to a particular post by right clicking the posting time/date text at the top of the post, saving the link address and pasting it into your post. Voila:
  12. I am having trouble with "controllers" here--pretty much anything other than a keyboard key (and those as well if your software allows you to reconfigure them) would be a controller. I suspect that you may be talking about the buttons people like to use in performance to trigger short sequences, but I tend to think of MIDI controllers as sliders or knobs.
  13. Maybe "retains temperature" is being interpreted as a claim to a clinical benefit as an antipyretic. I doubt that any brain at Amazon was engaged in this decision--more likely the result of an over-reliance on AS* powered decision making. *Artificial Stupidity
  14. USB expander is something I do not recognize. There are USB hubs that will add additional connections to an existing USB socket using the serial nature of the USB spec to piggy back on the existing hub and controller that serve that socket. These are inexpensive and generally reliable. They come as unpowered hubs or with additional connections to a wall wart power supply in case you need more power than the standard USB socket provides to power the total number of connected devices at a bit higher cost. There are also add-in daughter cards (usually these days they plug in to a free PCIe slot) that will add new USB Root Hub and controller and typically two to four exposed new sockets to your computer. What do you need to do with your "expander?"
  15. If they are honoring this for upgrades (Presonus says upgrade price is $149.00 from all versions) this is an amazing opportunity indeed. https://shop.presonus.com/Studio-One-Upgrades-Crossgrades

    Please Help

First be sure that Windows recognizes a working driver for your audio interface. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4520288/windows-10-fix-sound-problems see item 6
  17. If you are hitting the wall with Cakewalk or Cubase, and if you are just trying to record a couple of tracks of audio, maybe you should consider downloading the free Audacity. It may not do everything that a major DAW will do, but sometimes less is more when you are trying to master a monster application. https://www.audacityteam.org/

  19. Looks like this question has somehow been separated from a thread about an issue that is now a mystery. Maybe start over with a full description of the issue, or ask the mods to delete this thread, and put your comment as a reply to the thread you are referencing.
  20. Tremor is a pretty nonspecific descriptor, as the link explains. Even if you ignore the fact that many disorders manifest in part as tremor, and therefore that an etiologic diagnosis is important, the implications of the different types of tremor are markedly different. A musician who benefits from a beta blocker like propranolol for what your article calls "physiologic tremor" due to stage fright, is in an entirely different situation than someone who cannot stand or walk due to Parkinsonism.
  21. I also got Painter and Paintshop Pro in prior bundles, so not such a good deal for me on that score. The CorelDraw Graphics Suite is a 6 month subscription--just long enough to get a handle on how to use it before you need to start paying to keep it working. The CorelCAD 2019 is a perpetual license however and well worth the $30.00 price.
  22. Not working a job is not necessarily equivalent to free time. I am amazed at how much I could accomplish in eight hours on the job, and how little I can get done in 24 hours now. Good luck.
  23. Renamer is a bit more intuitive, but maybe less flexible. https://www.den4b.com/products/renamer

    USB Midi Driver

Have you tried just plugging it in? A lot of those cheap MIDI cables used class compliant drivers and will work without a specific driver. If it is not class compliant you might get lucky and find that there is a driver in the Microsoft driver database and you can find it by searching the web for a driver from within device manager.
