I can only imagine how frustrating it must be, especially in a professional enviroment. I've only had this issue just yesterday where I opened a project from 4-5 years ago to do some remixing and Kontakt was having none of it. Luckily I named the tracks with the corresponding name of the Kontakt instrument so I could load a new instance and fiddle around with it to get the sound I thought I had. I was just doing a fun remix so it could be a bit different. If I had to deliver the exact same thing, I was probably screwed.

Thanks! The setup is thought out specifically for that. There are still some items which don't get used as much as I like because of where they are. Work in progress.

Haha I saw your comment and I speeded over to the forum 😅

A fair bit of live playing, just letting the beat do its thing. It's not very structured like a buildup, break, drop kind of thing. It flows nicely and I like it! Edit: Oh and I had some trouble with one of the cameras, so I cheated and recorded another angle with me just standing around doing nothing 😂.

Just taking the oppertunity to say I still have an extra F'em serial lying around I'm wanting to sell for $29. A lot cheaper than the $107,40 it is now 😜

Yes I keep track. I think I sould be able to reach the 100 without interruption. Anyway, new week, new music, enjoy!

This sounds aweseome! I love that synthwave sound. -
https://www.orchestraltools.com/promotion/travels-in-sound €1,753 €599 +VAT. The individual products in the bundle are also 50% off. May I suggest the hauntingly beautiful and unique Fabrik Radome (I'm a fan of the entire Fabrik series). For €34 + tax you get a cello unlike in any other library.

I do this less than I should, but this one involves some improvisation on the keys. It's awesome to make use of the sonic range of the Matriarch. I should do that more often.

Ok this turned out to be a fun topic. I think the market is pretty saturated and people who are around for more than a couple of years (especially those under the care of cclarry), have pretty much all they want and need. I've been thinking and I guess what did it for me was 1) the realisation that they all do pretty much the same, the only general difference is workflow. And 2) the realisation that the YouTube reviewers are just salesmen who will sell you anything. Fueled by those companies. And 3) actually doing mixes and tracks multiple times a week showed me that what I have is waaaay too much. Don't get me wrong, if someone makes an interesting delay or distortion plugin which can do wild sounddesign things I might still bite. But for now I'm good...

...from GAS. Well, the software one. I've spent nothing this month so far and last month only €78 for TDR Nova GE (to complete the collection) and Soundtheory Kraftur (which I've used only twice, so there's a lesson in there somewhere). I'll still hang out with you cool kids of course. So just to rub it in, here's a sweet deal for some Native Instruments partner AVA Music Group. 75% off their Composer Essentials Bundle. Only $99 people! https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/komplete/ava-music-group-sale-2024/

Thanks! I'm taking extra care of the stereo field in the mixing and mastering. High shelving sides, panning different synth layers, etc.

It's why I do it 😜

Something more uptempo and in a major key. I almost forgot those existed 😅
-
It is indeed the signature of the genre. Long sequences with subtle movement and an almost ever present kick. This is also why the break is longer than I usually have it. I try tro incorporate more improv keyboard playing, but to be honest it is hard sometimes to keep track of everything (I create these things in 1 afternoon). I almost forgot to play the Malevolent at the end.

Thanks, much appreciated again. It really helps I think. If anything it encourages others to do also.

I'm not that great at doing things acording to set genres. So what is this? Tell me in the comments. But I do feel this has a certain epic feel to it. It continues to build, there's all sorts of layers going on and I get to play live again. I was really really proud with how this one turned out. Knowing the Youtube algo, it will perform horrible, but I don't care. This is the stuff I love. It's also my longest so far at nearly 9 minutes. Sorry 😅

I'm a Moog fanboy, and this seems absolutely awesome! But also absolutely too expensive.
-
Thanks, it is greatly appreciated. At first I was afraid the pitch modulation was too much, but it resolves nicely.
-
I touched on this subject before, but this is one jam I probably couldn't get with software. There is all this weird pitch dissonance going on which gives it this falsetto theme. But it was totally unintentional. The MS-20 patch just came out this way (well ok, I used the pitch modulation, so it was me who did it), which gave me the idea to implement some slight dissonance to other synths. Software wouldn't have given me that starting point.

But but but, she sends me these lovely messages like "sweet {insert firstname}". I think she really cares.

I would say yes. But I seem to grow a bit tired of the standard chords and inversions. And my music doesn't really lend itself for an add9 into a major 7th in the 2nd tonic. So I use it for basic inspiration and tweak by hand from there. But it has many many many more functions.
