  1. Hi treesha - thanks a lot for listening.

Yeah, I've got to find a film (or video) maker looking for some soundtrack music ;)

I especially enjoyed the short part about 2:40

    aah, power chords... ;)

  2. Hi Jack - thanks a lot for listening.
If this is anything nearly as good as anything by Steely Dan - I'd be absolutely delighted.
    Thanks for the thought 😉

  3. Hi,

I've got a new song out - it's called Rectify and you can hear it here:
    https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14638558

It's a little bit funky and features a (SWAM) brass section as well as the usual suspects:
    Superior drums
    MODO bass
    misc synths and B3
    real guitars

    All feedback is welcome.
    Thanks.

  4. Hi Nigel,

Thanks a lot for listening and for your comments. I think what you're both referring to is a noise kind of like a record scrathching or something "broken".

    It's just a noise - among other noises ;)

  5. Hi treesha,

Thanks a lot for listening and for your comments.

I just do instrumentals - I like it this way ;)

And that thing at 1:00 is *supposed* to sound like the song is ending - it's all part of the fun ;)

  6. Hi,

I've got a new song out. It's called "Cool Hat" - you can check it out here:
    https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14509790

It features all the usual suspects:
    Superior Drums
    MODO Bass
    some synth bits
    plus my Stratocasters

    All comments welcome 😉

All my stuff is here http://www.soundclick.com/johnbraner.
I've also got the new CDs on Band camp  http://johnbraner.bandcamp.com

I think I'll just have the finished CDs on Bandcamp for now, and load new stuff on to Soundclick, like I normally do.

Don't forget - Download CDs (including my newest ones "Heads" and "Tales") and singles are still available at all the normal streaming services.

  7. Hi Tom,

Thanks for listening. I don't really know what the LUFS level is, as these songs aren't really "mastered" until I'm ready for a "CD"'s worth.

I just run things through Izotope Ozone to put it at a decent level - then I let a proper Mastering Engineer do the mastering for a CD collection.
