    HATE

Fred, I like the change of pace in this song, yet you were able to maintain your classic flavor.  Your lyrics couldn't be more timely!  You are onto something!!  I like the way you flipped hate into love :)

  1. Very lovely song, Glenn!  I like this style of music, and your voice fits it very well.  I like the sax part, but not sure about that particular sample (if it was a sample).  Kudos on the backup vocals and lyrics, too!

  2. Wow, you made good use of this great software, Steve.  This is a lovely song which could only be better if your vocal was a little louder to showcase your incredible voice.  I  hope this is a springboard for your prolific songwriting!  Keep it up :)

  3. Greg, you've received some good advice which can help you in the long run.  However, without hearing a sample of your vocals, it's nearly impossible to give you precise advice.  You might get better help if you posted a sample of your song or vocal for our ears to hear on our systems.  I know that many singers don't like the sound of their own voice, yet others might like it anyway.  I used to be that way until I discovered that it was my ears that were faulty and not my equipment or room.  Eventually, I learned to overcome that disability by posting songs on the song forum, and I learned from a consensus of opinions where my weakness was and made adjustments accordingly.

I'm not saying your ears are bad; just that sometimes ears need a little training.  It's like getting used to your monitors and knowing their strengths and weaknesses.  Good luck!

  4. Gary, I actually like either version which just shows that there are many interpretations of a classic that are viable.  I use ARC 3 software;  I wonder if there's a big enough difference in the hardware version vs. the software version of ARC to be worth upgrading to.  You have proven the worth of the system!

  5. I like the way it sucked me in, and then it changed and held my interest.   Very nice textures in this one.  You never seem to run out of ideas!

  6. This is one of your best, Kevin.  I very much like it as is.  Sometimes you need a longer song in your catalog to balance things out.  The mix is spot on!  Take a bow.

  7. Tom, your words are much appreciated!  I wasn't sure how this song would be received here, and it took several months to find a mix that I could live with.  You and the community here have greatly encouraged me.

  8. "Considering the financial journey, I don't think we're gonna perpetual licenses. They don't provide the instant profit shareholders demand and fail to keep users tied to an ancient piece of software which hasn't received significant updates for the last 20 years."

Perhaps you missed ripple editing, articulation maps, tempo tracks, and numerous stability fixes while it's been free;)

Maybe you're barking up the wrong tree?  My version runs better than it ever did before Bandlab took over :)

Hey Lynn . . . really liked listening to this one !  . . . and found that main chromatic guitar riff very unique (haven't heard something like that before) . . . also, really excellent catchy chorus vocals, and super clarity in the mix and panning *** . . . so much there really, powerful song overall.

Thank you, Bruce, for dropping by with your encouraging words!  This forum gets a lot of credit for their good ideas and good ears.
