If anyone has and uses 8 bit kit, I'd love it if you could explain how to get it not to sound like hot garbage. I bought it during the last sale, along with Dark Farm, and its just... wrong. Only 3 presets, and they didn't even show up until I messed around with the location of files. And when I load any of the kits its just set up so poorly, with levels flat across the board, distorted as all hell, just sounds bizarre. There's no info online about how it should sound, so I have no idea if it's meant to sound like someone with a microphone who went insane made a bunch of weird sounding drum sounds and only half got them to work in BFD before deciding screw it, I'm done, let's put this up for sale.

The video below shows them sounding bad.

However, in the comments below the video, someone says that the default sounds on another product sounded bad and it was because so much mix was going through the room, overhead, and ambient mics. Maybe try some changes there?

I feel that way with Oblivion Sound Labs. In fact, it's more like close to 100%.
Even their free soundbanks are amazing. They really shouldn't be free.
Diva owners have to checked out their free soundbanks:

100% agree.  Oblivion Sounds has my favorite packs period.

The Unifnished is really good too.

  3. Did anyone have trouble getting this newest bank?  I click to "get" it in the Analog Lab browser, but nothing happens.

I was able to download other banks, so it's really just the Vintage bank.

    This recent Black Friday 2023?

I've bought mine from JRRShop in April 2023.. And I've also bought 3 other plugins of Sonible.  You'd think the upgrade would be free for any owner before Black Friday 🧐

Maybe I'll just stop buying from Sonible.  Speak with my money.  There's thousands of other plugins developers.  Plus, I already own plugins that practically do the same thing.

Yes, this Black Friday.  I'd say it's pretty standard for a grace period just before a new release.  Otherwise, you have someone who buys a version that is immediately out of date a couple of weeks later.  That's typically how these things work.

You had 8 months to use it that I didn't have.

  5. This is a good collection particularly at that price. The webpage doesn't list all the effects for some reason but there are 16 of them.

    From Sweetwater's page:

    Tracktion DAW Essentials Collection Includes:

Equalizer: Simple yet powerful equalizer with an integrated spectrum analyzer and 8 configurable EQ bands

Compressor: Effortlessly control dynamics with this fully featured mono/stereo compressor, featuring side chain with a dedicated filter and an expander mode

Reverber8: Pristine algorithmic reverb that rivals some of the most sophisticated convolution reverbs available

Delay Studio: A time-based effects laboratory with complex multi-tap delay lines and a visualizer that encourages experimentation

Stereo Delay: Create delay effect with a streamlined user interface, tempo sync, integrated filters, crossfeed, and feedback control

Tape Delay: Classic vintage-style tape delay effect with wow and flutter controls

Crossover: Easily separate frequency bands for downstream multiband processing through your favorite effects

Limiter: Easy-to-use and extremely transparent brickwall limiter; with look-ahead capability

Gate/Expander: Eliminates unwanted background noise quickly and effectively; with look-ahead capability

Ducker: Use as a utility processor for broadcast applications or as a creative tool for dynamically managing levels between sources

Flanger: Wide-ranging flanger effect featuring tempo-syncable rate

Crusher: Instant lo-fi! Reduces the resolution and bandwidth of a signal while adding characterful distortion

Chorus: Thickens synth tracks, guitars, vocals, and more; with tempo-syncable rate control for creating rhythmic effects

Bus Compressor: Provides glue for instrument sub-groups and the main mix; built around the same algorithms as Compressor

Phaser: Vintage 80s-style sweeping effect that employs a series of variable all-pass phase-shift networks

Auto Filter: Transform any source with this outstanding resonant filter effect; includes a variable waveshape LFO for modulating the effect

  6. The $136 price at Thomann along with videos showing what Avenger can do with samples hooked me.  I'm now a proud owner.

To me, the spectral, resampling, looping, etc modes where you work with samples is where it's at for me so far with Avenger.   Having fun!
