I don't have enough mixing knowledge to know if this guy really knows his stuff or not, but he comes off as knowledgeable and seems to make some fairly well reasoned recommendations.  So I'll add this to the Waves alternatives video mix.  Feel free to critique his recommendations,  I certainly won't take offense and I might even learn something (anything is possible,  right?). ButI do believe in the idea of voting with our dollars (or whatever the currency is in the country where you live).

I find Bass Enhancer by redrock in his list really good. It's on sale for $10

True, although you can also set the loudness type to RMS or Peak (or True Peak) instead of LUFS. I’ve been thinking about adding some kind of hybrid mode to use both simultaneously. But that’s just an idea so far, haven’t started digging into it.

The meter and compressor have different demo songs used.  Both are licensed through Audiio.

compressor: Philip Dansor - Bloom (Instrumental)

meter: Annasara - A Lifetime Rolls By

I don’t see any way to save presets, themes, or settings. Also I don’t see A B buttons to quickly compare two different sets of settings. Are these limitations due to DEMO?

Both are great, but it depends on what you will be using them for. The mastering version has higher latency and more suited to the stereo buss on mixdowns, or mastering a stereo track, or project. I don't use it in production.

GE is great in prod, for tracks, busses and the stereo buss. You could still use it for mastering, but I prefer the mastering edition for that.

    Thanks!

I am trying to justify to myself if I need any of these. I recently got Kirchhoff-EQ and I am quite happy with it.

If you have any issues with Lunacy Audio, just write them.  They got back to me in a day and solved my problem.

I think CUBE is one of the most innovative synths to be released in recent years. The user interface is easy to understand and fun to use.   Because the design sets up constant modulation, you can get great sounds too.  It's my favorite new synth after Pigments.  My only problem with it is that the paths screen makes me a little dizzy, so I don't usually have that up.

I like the company policy of regularly releasing free preset packs.  Like Audiomodern.  You get exactly the same thing in a $39 Output expansion for free.

You just have to pay for expansions when they bring in new samples.  As they add content, CUBE gets better and better.  You can also add your own samples.

Probably Black Friday is the best time, though.   I bet I could have gotten PASTELS for less than $22 if I waited.  But I don't mind.

In my case they replied in less then 10 minutes and got it resolved right away.

    I am impressed!

Right!  It's one or the other, and the NEWSLETTER10 code makes it cheaper than the "CUBE-MINI" code

At first, the site added some mini upgrade coupon by itself.

When I added NEWSLETTER10 coupon, mini upgrade coupon was auto removed and price went up.

So I removed NEWSLETTER10 coupon and site again auto added mini upgrade coupon and lowered the total price.

I also have Mini and Rumble. Some guy on KVR even said it was $80 and he used "newsletter10" to get it to $60. Maybe it varies by region and I'm being punished for where I'm from because we started a few world wars.

For me newsletter10 didn’t work. Site would only allow one coupon, some mini upgrade coupon or newsletter10 coupon.

When I added newsletter10 coupon it removed mini upgrade coupon.

How? It's $130 for me and $154 with VAT. Using code newsletter10 knocks it to $130 with taxes, but still. :(

Maybe cclarry  also has Rumble and $99 is in USD?

I just paid around 130 CAD for everything bundle. I had Mini + Rumble.

I was not really sure before I bought it but now I am happy with the purchase! I find it really unique and fun.
