Appreciate the SLG guitars are a bit niche, but they are very playable, have a good blend of amplified and modelled sound and record well.
I really should get mine out of the case a bit more often. ?
Andy
Thanks Andy. I was shopping for the SLG and then decided I like playing unplugged too much. Years ago I saw Lee Ritenour playing one so I know they sound good. My wife would probably like the silent version when I play a lead part 100 times trying to get a good recording!

Thanks! I actually had some percussion in it initially but took it out because I thought it sounded too busy. Jamstix has jamcussion but usually I don't like it. I also have some percussion wav samples that I tried but none worked real well. Open to any suggestions on good percussion vst or wavs.

I tried a new freebee plugin called Fresh Air (seems like a nice one) on the rhythm and melody parts, also backed off slightly on the reverb with this mix.

Here’s a nice freebie VST I ran across the other day.. “Fresh Air”... It does require an I-Lok cloud authorization to use it, but, so do quite a few of my paid plugin’s, so no problem..

Thanks for that, I like this one, it can be subtle but adds a little sparkle to things.

I like the song but the sounds not so much. The guitar is kind of harsh sounding and thin, the bass and drums are pretty weak and compressed? sounding. I think it could be good with some work. I have in the past recorded a commercial song that is a great recording onto a track as a reference when mixing. I also like to send a mix to my phone and listen on my headphones that I use all the time and compare to other tracks on there. I'm no expert so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Thanks a lot Jack, David, Miguel, Mark! David, the Yamaha is a NCX1C, it's a standard neck cutaway classical with a red cedar top. I really am impressed with it, the finish, the tone, it plays like a much more expensive instrument.

New original tune inspired by the new Yamaha nylon string guitar. Using my Glarry jazz fretless on this too.

Very nice, your voice sounds good. I have trouble listening to my singing too. I like the groove you have going in this.

Sounds really good on my cans, great song.

Sounds much fuller, the pedal steel sounds good. There is a weird thing going on in the intro with the violin? sound, maybe replace it with more pedal steel. Not a fan of the rhythmic synth on the chorus when the backup vocals come in, it is distracting. Overall much improved.

I think the guitars and vocals sound good and clear. The bass is weak and muffled.

Better, but the bass and drums still sound weak to me. Maybe an acoustic piano would sound nice in there.

Very nice! Lot's of cool sounds, really good work. I can hear some Floyd, Yes and other influences in there, but it's your own too.

Good playing! Paul Rodgers is a tough act to follow for sure.

Great song and vocals! On my monitors the midrange is pretty irritating making me want to turn down the volume (opposite of what to do with good song) Try listening through as many different speakers/headphones as you can it might help the mixing. Keep at it, it's good stuff.
